Kennedy, the youngest president of the United Sates of America addressed the nation and world in his inaugural address, after a challenging election and precarious period in which our country was enduring. With issues such as the Cold War and the cruel inequality issues our county was facing the success of his speech was imperative. In this thoughtful, well worded speech he challenged, inspired and provoked Americans to become passionate about their country stating, “ask not what your country can do for you-ask what you can do for your country.” (Kennedy) The words chosen for the address were well thought out, planned words, which were carefully placed and spoken beautifully. In his inaugural address Kennedy argues that new times are on the horizon for the United States and gives examples on how to unite the country and world. At the beginning of the inaugural address Kennedy begins with a strong and reassuring statement “We observe today not a victory of party, but a celebration of freedom-symbolizing an end, as well as a beginning-signifying renewal, as well as change.” (Kennedy) This statement demonstrates humility by removing his personal gain and turning it into a victory for the American people.
The Modern Presidency What were the key reasons behind FDR being elected the 32th President of the United States? During its year of existence the United States had seen 43 Presidents, governing its citizens created policies with the exception of Barack Obama makes him the 44th President but has not finished his term in office. But nonetheless in 1933 a man with views and a character different than his predecessors won the trust of millions of America in which at a point had no hope. The Journey to the White House: Barack Obama Whenever a new president of the United States is elected, history is made. But never has it been made so dramatically as it was on November 4, 2008, when American’s voters chose Barack Obama as our 44th president. Critique: Kennedy’s Inaugural Address John F. Kennedy was the 35th President from 1961 until his untimely demise until 1963. His victory over Richard Nixon set him in the office as the second youngest President. He was President during the cold war with events such as Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the building of the Berlin Wall, the Space Race, and the early stages of the Vietnam War. Kennedy’s use of military power was dominated by confrontations with the Soviet Union in the early stage of the Cold War which he showed in his Inaugural Address. During his Inaugural Address he states he is ready to assist and defend any nations in need and won’t back down from any threats that may face the nation.

As he led the nation with hopes of equality, freedom, morals, and principles the hopes of Americans died with Mr. Kennedy. Americans during the 1960 election saw Kennedy as a young influential president, especially towards the subject of racial inequality. President Kennedy publicly committed his administration to the cause of racial equality in the summer of 1963 when he proposed the Civil Rights bill to Congress and offered his endorsement to the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The assassination shocked America and soon after led to counterculture and rebellious teenagers during the late sixties early seventies.
