Stormie Reaves The History of Broadway Mr. Culverhouse In 1811, the city planners of New York City began a massive building execution of the grid, which is now a major characteristic of Manhattan. Broadway, as we know it, was born. All existing roads were redesigned according to this concept; only Broadway was spared. Alen Menken got his first big break in January of 1979 with Howard Ashman in the Off-Broadway production “God Bless you, Mr. Rosewater.” Three years later he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Music in his Off-Broadway Production “Little Shop of Horrors” and from that in January of 1987 Menken was given his first Oscar nomination for a song with in it called “Mean Green Mother from Outer Space.” In 1990 Menken was nominated for three Oscar nominations and three Golden Globe Nominations and went on to win two of each for his work in the Walt Disney production “The Little Mermaid”.

Even on her arrival instead of confronting the issue of Susies death she orders for a “Stiff Drink”. At the beginning of the film, Poppy arrives at Abbey Mount; she is represented as an arrogant adolescent. When Poppy first enters the school, Kate is appointed as her buddy. When Kate makes an effort to become friends with Poppy, Poppy refuses her friendship; “I choose my friends and FYI, you don’t make the cut.” Poppy’s derogatory colloquial language and dismissive statement reveals Poppy’s egotistical nature.
