Human Resource Management: Case Study Name: University: Course: Tutor: Date: Identification of issues Human Resource Management of a firm faces a number of challenges in their recruitment process. In St Luke hospital, several issues were found to compromise with the selection and recruitment process of the Human Resource. These issues include choosing the right person for the right job, impersonation, con games and verification of employees’ identity. The main issue in this case study is ineffective selection and recruitment process in St Luke’s hospital complex. This is seen when the company recruited an employee who gave completely incorrect information about himself. John Fredrick Bundy had lied about his life experience and credentials in order to be recruited in St Luke’s Hospital. His recruitment in St Luke’s, made the hospital to make loss of $22 000, compared to the previous year where the Hospital had made a profit of $221 000. Assumptions This case study will be analysed on the basis of some assumptions. First assumption is that the Human Resource Management of St Luke’s has not done anything to avoid such issues from occurring ain the future. The second assumption is that the Human Resource Management in St Luke’s has no strategy in place to improve their recruitment and selection process. This assumption necessitates for recommendation of strategies that St Luke’s hospital can adapt to ensure effective recruitment and selection process. Another assumption is that the employees recruited in St Luke’s don’t perform in their duties, and the company doubt their competencies. This necessitates improvement in the recruitment and selection process to the Human Resource Management of St Luke’s Hospital.
