In literature does evil ever triumph, but do they not conquer? Someone once said “In literature, evil often triumphs, but never conquers,” which in another word means that evil might win in some way but over all evil will never triumph. In William Shakespeare's play MAcbeth we see representations of the quote been valid. As well as in Arthur Millers novela Death of a Salesman which also gives genuine examples of the quote beem correct. In Shakespeare’s Macbeth the protagonist Macbeth is a noble and honorable Thane that gets misguided. In this case Macbeth is the evil in this play, while his antagonist MacDuff is the good and just. What’s immoral about Willys characterization is his false pride and his unwillingness to see life for what it is. So instead Willy continues to lie to himself and to others. In the novela Willy refuses to believe that himself and his family isnt successful. Willy is around sixty years old and he is a salesman, a salesman with no knowledge of what it actually takes to be a salesmen. Over the many years he was a salesman he always believed that it was people liking him was what made a salesmen. Willy’s first son is named Biff, Biff was mislead by Willy when he was younger. Willy mislead Biff by filling his head full of hot air, which lead to Biff believing that just him been well liked is the key to success in the business world. Willy never corrected Biff about stealing, so Biff went about life all wrong once he went was out on his own, he stole himself out of every job he had. In the end Biff recognizes his problem as well as the rest of his family's problem. He realizes that they lie, and he try's to tell them during a fight he was having with Willy. Instead of Willy listening he just kept on yelling SPITE, SPITE, so his pride in the end was his own downfall. Maybe if he would of payed attention and listened to his son he would of still been alive a while longer. Because at the end of the fight Willy got a idea how to impress Biff and the solution ended up been that he kills himself. It didn't workout the way he wanted it to though because no one showed for his funeral besides his two kids his wife and his friend
