Reflection Paper Tamara Colwell GEOG 200 D-Term Fall 2012 Liberty University When walking through a local park in my area, a person can see why this area was chosen as a family park. The name of the park is Black creek Park. This park has many attractions that would draw a family to it. There are many trees in the park that can create much needed shade during the summer months. There is a baseball field and playground area in the park.
Dolly was born into the Quaker faith. Her father was a planter then opened a laundry business except it failed. After her father died, her mother for a short time opened her home to boarders. Her family often struggled to make ends meet. Abigail‘s family wealth and position were quite prominent.
Outside of the house on the side of the backyard there is a beautiful garden. It also has a couple of places marked where slaves would have lived at the time. We got to see the grave on the shuttle ride back to the welcome center. The tour guide was very helpful and he told us a lot about Jefferson. It was fun going there but now I just ride my bike passed there knowing that it used to be the place everyone wanted to go. I can’t forget Bentsen Park, the park received new nature trails and boardwalks. As well as the park’s natural beauty as it was transformed into the World Birding Center Headquarters. OBITUARY- Long Essay #1 Hanna Khavich Trane Hanna Khavich Trane, 77 years old, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2010 at Genesee Hospital, Rochester, New York, after a 6 month battle with cancer. Mrs. Trane was born on January 15, 1933, the oldest of three children to Elaina Smith Khavich and Simon Khavich. For the first three years of her life, Mrs. Trane grew up in Kharkov, Ukraine and immigrated with her family, including her brother Andy, and her sister Vera, to Ellis Island in 1936. Growing up in New York City, she was homeschooled by her mother from kindergarten until the fifth grade. She then attended P.S.
In about 1933 or 1934 Dad and my brother Ed had gone to Chateau or Conrad (can’t remember which for sure) to look at a service station Ed was interested in taking over. After they had left some of our horses got out and had to be caught and put back in the field. Helen and I and Ed’s girlfriend Fern Aagard were alone on the ranch. We decided to take the Chevy and drive to the neighbor’s house and get help to catch the horses. The neighbor’s son came with us to help.

Rachel Louise Carson was born on May 27, 1907 in Springdale, Pennsylvania. She was born to Robert Warden and Maria McLean Carson on an old farm where they raised animals. Carson’s family was poor. Her father traveled a lot for work and while he was away, Carson’s mother gave piano lessons. Carson lived in a tiny farmhouse with the rest of her four family members.
