Implementing Electronic Health Records: The barriers and the benefits Western Governor’s University Electronic Health Records (EHR) not only reduces physician and other healthcare workers workload, but also improves the quality of care through the use of technology such as medication reconciliation tools to prevent medication errors, the use of lab ordering and results delivery to improve the time for diagnosis and treatment and electronic sharing of treatment plans with clients and family and other caregivers. Challenges and benefits on EMR implementation has been and continues to be the focus in the health care industry. Many researchers have already studied this issue. Combining the results of studies already conducted will improve the accuracy of my research. Research measured and method used I would measure the level of satisfaction amongst stakeholders involved with EMR implementation and the perceived view of the benefits and challenges with using an EMR. This can be more easily achieved using an interview method with semi structured questions. Benefit of semi structured interview method The benefit of using a semi structured interview method is that it provides the best of both worlds. I will be able to tabulate the results of the structured portion of the interview which will be easier to analyze. In addition, I will be able to ask more in-debt questions that will allow the subject to elaborate on their opinions. Data analysis and conclusion I would analyze the data using descriptive statistics. In this approach I will look at the data in graphical presentation to identify what can be learned from the data. I will also determine if the data relates to my hypothesis. The conclusion drawn will be based on the ability to answer that testable
