Date: June 1st 2010 Easter is just not a holiday If Easter wasn’t important then why would classify is as holiday? People these days think that Easter is just a holiday because all we do is get days off of work and/or school and eat chocolate. Easter is really about the celebration of the afterlife of Jesus. Easter is also a time when we should be looking back on how much Jesus sacrificed. We celebrate Easter because that was when Jesus rose from dead, the third day after he was crucified. Ever since that day all Catholics celebrate Easter . Jesus disciples saw the soul of Jesus along the shore of a river, because Jesus was giving his disciples a sign that he was still alive and was watching over them. When Jesus was not in the tomb Mary never gave up finding Jesus. Mary was the type of woman that once she sets her mind to something, she never gives up. Easter is not about getting chocolate. It is more than that. Children these days think that Easter is when we get chocolate and toys. This is not the true meaning of Easter. Catholics are supposed to know that Jesus is the reason the we celebrate Easter. We shouldn’t be excited for the chocolate on Easter, but getting excited for how much Jesus loves us. All the things that Jesus gave up for us makes us stronger by learning from Jesus life and afterlife. Easter is the time of year when we give something up for forty days just like Jesus did for us. It was hard for Jesus during those forty days, but we have to give him something to show him thanks for everything that as been done for us. Jesus did something for us so it is our turn now to give back. During the forty days we should praise Jesus for all the stuff he as done for us. Easter is when people should look back on how much Jesus sacrificed for us. Looking back on much Jesus did is wonderful because if he didn’t do that then nobody would be here today.
