Eastenders review Overused Storylines? This show has won six BAFTA awards as well as ten national television awards and four royal television society awards. Perplexed. Do we all enjoy this 1980’s show? Vacuous audience captivated. Most loved soap with over 50 million viewers Eastenders. The audience are so engulfed by this show when a character dies they feel a part of them as gone away. Bewitched? Really? The reason is beyond Science. The storylines continue to be popular however it is so predictable, but it still leaves us on the edge of our seats. Discrimination? Eastenders is “you get what you see”. Everything about it can be read on the label. First of all we have: * Phil Mitchell – bald hard man * Michael Moon – nutter * Derrick Branning – rich dogey one – (with a terrible comeback) When murderer occur with Phil its way over dramatic. Cars exploding, people drowning in water. Sure you still want to watch eastenders? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Here we have the Dot Branning. She quotes endlessly from the Bible however none of it is actually applied to her life. Anti – Christian Sentiment? It ridicules religion. Well, let’s put it this way. It’s called Eastenders but then again its set in Walford a fictional town. Really? The hackneyed foreseeable show is too dramatic. As storylines would be stretched to gain viewers. Why we are still attracted and addicted? You really can’t sympathizes with the characters as allot of catastrophic acting overshadows their emotion. I feel sexism is quit an issue as well. Men equally have an importance. (Not really). Women are dominant characters with a strong presence. * Pat Butcher * Peggy Mitchell * Mo Slater * Janine Butcher (same family?) Yes.
