Descriptive essay: A Scene from my last holiday (about 250 words) In Nigeria, holiday during Christmas period is a time to resolve any issues and quarrels between family members in addition to religious activities, merriments and entertainments. I went to Nigeria for holiday on 8th December; 2010, flying from London Gatwick Airport. My flight landed at Matalan Airport in Northern Nigeria from where I took a local flight to my home town called Enos in the South. My dad and younger brother Obama were on hand to pick me from the airport. Driving through a dusty and bumpy road for a distance of about 20miles seemed unending. The noise, dust and blaring horns from vehicles made it impossible to communicate. The car’s door glasses were wound down or else we would suffocate from the 39 deg Celsius intense hot sun. As we drove past the ‘Ulago motor park, Stop, Stop…Stop! “I shouted on sighting roadside bottled water hawkers. The hawkers rushed to the car as my dad ‘pumped’ the car brake to a stop. “Cold water please”, I exclaimed, but unfortunately there was none as all the water bottles felt warn from the sun as if just released from a microwave. I had no option but to take one and we continued our journey. This is Nigeria said a passer-by. When we reached my house, it was a very exciting moment. My mum, family members, and my cousin Jessica were happy to see me. I spent the next 40hrs telling stories and answering probing questions about London.
