Germany established a submarine war zone around the British Isles and said they would sink any enemy war ships that entered that proximity. Innocent American trading and merchant ships were being shot down and sunk by ruthless German warfare at sea. Germany refused to let the neutral America trade goods with their enemy countries. This dramatically impacted America because much of the American economy was controlled by trade with Britain and France, and moving forward America knew it would be impossible to keep an expanding economy without GB and France. America, despite its efforts, could not remain neutral and was forced to enter World War 1.
Treaty of Versailles was the peace treaty which officially ended World War I. it was very burdensome on the German economy. Germany was just a devastated by the war as anyone else, but they were very hard pressed to rebuild with the massive reparation payments they were required to make. But the reason why they did soo debt on them is because of Germany made a great destruction on countries, especially on French. I think the reasons for WW2 were: Treaty of Versailles, Hitler’s rise to power and Militarism. Treaty
Brad Trublowski 2/19/13 IAH 221C 002 The Inevitable Cold War At the end of World War II, two super powers emerged: Unites States and Russia. These two countries are the main reason World War II was brought to an end. After the war, there were many disputes on solving the problems in a weak and much damaged Europe. The two superpowers were only allies during the war and they will find out after the war, they will have many conflicts. Russia and the United States had very different political policies which led to the Cold War being inevitable.
During autumn of 1929 the stock market began behaving highly volatile. Stock market prices were expanded to just about breaking point, and then suddenly it crashed. Because of the Stock Market Crash the gross national product dropped 40 %, $6.1 billion in 1929 to $3.5 billion in 1933 (The Canadian History Page). The Bank had no money left because of the effect of the stock market crash. Wages in the industrial sector were not keeping up with huge increase in manufacture and profits.
The problems began after the 1st World War, and after the German government signed the papers at the Treaty of Versailles, agreeing to its conditions and punishments, the government was very much resented by the people. The first political event that marked the beginning of the collapse of the German democracy was the Treaty of Versailles. The treaty took place in Paris in 1919. After Germany was held responsible for starting the war, the government faced numerous problems: both economical and political. Although the conditions of the agreement seemed extremely severe, the allied countries had no sympathy for the Germans.
Hitler argued that the failure of the New Deal was the cause of the war. The hostility between Germany and the United States caused them to go to war against each other. Once Hitler declared war for Germany, the U.S. had to fight back to protect
The immediate cause of the Second World War was the German invasion of Poland in September 1939. Britain and France got involved by declaring war on Germany, and soon Europe and the wider world were involved in the War. However, the underlying causes of the war are much more complicated than what it seems to be. There were many factors that had contributed to the initiation of the war; the major ones were the Treaty of Versailles, the emergence of fascism and communism, the hatred of Jews, the Great Depression, the failure of the League of Nations, and the rise of dictators. The Treaty of Versailles was signed to make the Great War "the war to end all wars."
World War II was a horrific event that is and will be remembered as one of the most terrifying and morbid events in human history. There were estimates of 60 to 80 million that died, but the numbers are Jurassic nonetheless. Many Americans simply thought that the problems in Europe would stay in Europe and would not cross the seas to them and their way of life, but there was a new enemy that would bring war to our shores. After World War I, The Treaty of Versailles, a peace settlement, was signed at the vast Versailles Palace near Paris between Germany and its allies. The treaty forced Germany to grant territories to Belgium, Czechoslovakia, and Poland.
The war between the two countries could not be contained to just them alone due to an alliance system that linked certain countries together by pledge to back each other in time of war. This caused a chain reaction forcing Russia, France, and Great Britain to go to war with Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. During this time the United States remained neutral because they believed it was a European matter and we wanted to continue trading with those nations at war. The United States became less neutral in the war and more supportive of the allies side following several events with Germany. German U-boats sank British passenger liners killing Americans.
World War I began because of many obstacles that America would have to sustain in order for the war to diminish. On May 7, 1915, the German army sank a ship called the Lusitania. At this time, 1,198 people lost their lives and included 128 American people. This ship was carrying war shipments from the United States to England. The passengers on the ship knew there may be a possible attack on the ship but Woodrow Wilson condemned this attack as illegal and inhuman.
