By almost narrating a story, the poem gives us an insight in to the Egyptian king’s life due to the fact that there are no stanzas, its just an account of the pharaohs life. Describe the geography of Ancient Egypt and its effect on Egyptian civilization The Egyptian civilization lies in the heart of the Nile River valley. The river extends 3,000 miles before it reaches Egypt, and flows North. It is regulated by the Aswar Dam, and flows into the Mediterranean. The Nile River supplied fertile soil and water, wheat, barley, and flax crops, papyrus, and a religion to worship.

The Cuyahoga River is pretty short only 100 miles ending dumping out into Lake Erie. As every river it is cricked, shallow in places, and narrow. It flows south then to the north. In 1769 a group of surveyors led by General Moses Cleveland traveled to Northeast Ohio towards Lake Erie and drew lines for different lots and towns. One of these towns struggled through settlements on a useless river this town is Cleveland.
The distance between these two lakes and the mouth of the Nile into the Mediterranean was of 938 miles. The Nile River was the backbone of Ancient Egypt and it is held responsible for the flourish of civilization 5,000 years ago. The first and most important gift the Nile gave to Ancient Egypt was its annual flooding. The Early Egyptians were never able to figure out that the flooding is due to the rains on the mountains to the south. The heavy rains would produce a run-off and create the Nile River.
Brandon Pilcher MUS 13 AF Professor Jeff Kaiser The African Origin of Ancient Egyptian Music Although our African Music course attempted to cover all the continent’s major regions in its first unit, including the Sahara Desert in the north, it nonetheless omitted one major area of Northeast Africa that I would have preferred to see explored: the Egyptian Nile Valley. Even our textbook says barely a word on Egyptian music from any time period and none at all on its pre-Islamic, pre-Arabic stages (what we commonly call the “Ancient Egyptian” period). I presume this was because the musicology department at UCSD classifies ancient Egypt not as a “true” African culture but as a Near Eastern one, the same policy as the History Department (notice the one Ancient Egyptian course is sorted under Near Eastern rather than African history). I object to this classification. I submit that ancient Egyptian music shares many parallels with that played throughout so-called “traditional” Africa, both in instrumentation and in musical style.
