He began writing very young, in elementary school. He wrote monster stories for other students for 1 cent per page. Dramatic readings included. He gained an interest in comic books in high school, where he began to write fan fictions for comic fanzines, or amateur fan magazines. (“Life and Times”) The first sale of his professional career was in 1970 at age 21: The Hero, sold to the fanzine Galaxy, which was published February 1971.

His dad was Jewish and his mom was Christian, just like the main character in the story The Catcher in The Rye. As a child he grew up attending public schools and military academy in New York. He first started writing in magazines in New York but he also wrote several stories in his early times like A Perfect Day for Banana Fish.
Piet Mondrian won his licenses and was able to teach at primary and secondary schools, but his heart was set on becoming a painter. In 1892 Mondrian enrolled in Amsterdam arts school. He had little success over 18 years, until 1910 when he got a breakthrough. He became a full member of the jury of an art society. In 1911, he was exposed for the first time by the works of the cubists Braque and Picasso, at an exhibition in Amsterdam.
They both worked and saved up just enough to buy themselves a home at the age of 25. The house was a small two floor, three bedroom house with a little work that needed to be done to it. Laila Suwannakood 5th period Due: August 14, 2012 David McCullough was a young boy who was born on July 7, 1933 and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Christian and Ruth McCullough. In his younger years, he attended Linden Avenue Grade School and Shady Side Academy. As he grew older he attended Yale University and graduated English Literature with honors. While at Yale, he met an author, Thornton Wilder.
He began writing at age sixteen or seventeen. Remarque attended the University of Münster and was planning for a career as an elementary school teacher. Toward the end of World War I, which Germany had entered in support of Austria-Hungary, he was drafted into the army. While recovering in a German hospital from wounds suffered during the war, Remarque worked on Die Traumbude ( The Dream Room ), his first novel, which was published in 1920. Around this time he switched to the original French spelling of his last name.

As part of our first assignment, we were required to interview another class member to be the subject of our upcoming paper. My interview was with Wes Wagner. Like myself, Wes is attending English 50 so that he can qualify to enroll in English 100, and comply with his Academic Plan for his Associates Degree in Art/Photography.Like myself, Wes was born and raised here, in beautiful Oceanside. John dos Passos A little biography. Born John Roderigo Madison en 1896, John dos Passos was a writer, although he was well studied in other arts like architecture and painting. He lived in Europe until he was five years old, which resulted in him having learned French as his first language. When he was five he and his mother came back to America, where young John started showing that he was no regular boy. He graduated from school early, and entered Harvard in 1912, after a year spent traveling to Europe, but now as a young adult.

Although he always did well in his English and writing classes, he never really tried to write a book until “The House on Blackberry Street”. On top of writing “The House on Blackberry Street”, Weaver was also multiple-time Honors and AP student, and a seven-time varsity wrestler and football player at his high school, where he graduated a year early, at age 16. At the time of his writing “The House on Blackberry Street”, Weaver lived with his step mom, father and little sister in Pennsylvania.
