She would make a new prayer book to please the catholic and then change it to English to please the Protestants. During Mary’s reign, persecuted Protestants looked on Elizabeth as their saviour. Many Protestants thought that Elizabeth would turn the country firmly back towards the Protestant religion. In my analysis of Elizabeth’s religious settlement it is clear to see that this is not totally the case. Out of the eight main points of the settlement, I found that Elizabeth had rules that would please both Protestants and Catholic’s.

Allyssa Bosco 4-24-13 Why is it important to have knowledge about historic education? It is important to have a knowledge about the previous education in America because so that we can see how much that we have improved since then. For example, up until the 1960’s public schools made it mandatory to read passages from the Bible. They didn’t have the separation between church and state as we do now. Now reading passages from the Bible and teaching religion in a public school is not prohibited.
The war made society view women as willing to give themselves up to others. During the Civil War, all nurses wore either a black or brown dress. Bows, jewelry, hoopskirts and curls were prohibited. On their head, they wore either a kerchief or a full white hood. Nurses were not permitted to bear arms on the battlefront.
I constantly challenge what the church say’s because of all the rules it implements. If Jesus loves me for me, why can’t I break the rules a bit? Now when I go to my mother’s church, it is a completely different environment. In her church they give the same sermons but they add music, there is no dress code and mass is only an hour long. I feel that her church is more reasonable, liberal and closer to what the religion wants from the
Perseverance of the Saints Dickinson regularly attended her family's church, and New England Calvinism surrounded her. Dickinson stood out as an eccentric when, as a young girl, she refused to join the church officially or even to call herself a Christian Romanticism An artistic, literary, and intellectual movement that originated in Europe toward the end of the 18th century and in most areas was at its peak in the approximate period from 1800 to 1840. For twenty years, I was very involved in my church such as serving, praying, signing, and teaching. As soon as I was old enough, my parents encouraged me to be part of missionary group at my church, so I traveled to Jamaica every two years to reach the unreached people including deaf people, plant churches, clothe them with the clothes, and helping out with the foster children. While I was doing that, I did not develop a relationship with God. I did pray but it was not really heartfelt prayers. I served but I only served for the church people, not for God.
In Lewes, my family would attend Bethel United Methodist Church almost every Sunday. My parents didn’t have a deep connection to the church, but they felt that going to church would be good for the family. Therefore, they would push my sister and I to wake up early on most Sunday’s and bribe us with an IHOP breakfast afterwards. It was always a struggle to wake up so early and to sit for two hours still and quiet. That might be a reason that I still dread going to church today.
Only four other states made a 25 minute class every morning reading at least ten verses of the Bible. Twenty-five other states made this optional. The children and Edward Schempp testified under the federal district court. The children explained the class to court. Edward testified in the second trial and stated that he was thinking about pulling his children out of that class every morning, but he was afraid that the children’s relationships with their teachers and classmates could be affected.
Americans also believed that women did not have rights. They had no voice in politics and that their role was to stay at home, cook for their husbands, and take care of the children. They were not allowed to participate into anything that was related to men, such as school, sports, and work. As
