Evolution of the American Revolution: Causation to Sovereignty The American Revolution is described as the political uprising of the thirteen British Colonies of North America against the British Empire during the last half of the eighteenth century. Officially, the conflict lasted from 1775, starting with the “shot heard round the world,” to 1783 when the British Government recognized the independence of the colonies as one sovereign nation. The Revolutionary War was preceded by politically, socially, and economically related ideals and events that altogether inspired the unification of the independent colonies and their separation from the British Empire. The key influences of the American Revolution include: the French and Indian War; the Navigation, Currency, Stamp Tax, Declaratory, Townsend Duties, Tea, and Intolerable Acts; as well as the political and religious ideals of the colonists. The revolutionary era for the American Colonies began around 1763 after the British removed the military threat of the French from North America during the French and Indian War, which resulted in substantial economic debt for the British Empire.
He survived the war living to eighty years old but was deeply affected by the horrors of war. Wilfred Owen, also a lieutenant, was shot on the 4th November 1918, one week before Armistice Day. Owen met Sassoon at Craighart Hospital in Edinburgh, where Owen was suffering from shell shock after being blown up by a mortar. In the case of the 1970’s, the effects of domestic and foreign affairs greatly impacted the uniform of American Politics. Of the domestic affairs, Hamilton’s financial plan, the Whiskey Rebellion, and the Alien and Sedition acts that most greatly impacted politics in the 1790’s. As America gained its freedom form Great Britain, it was soon evident Americas’ credit was remotely non-existent. Alexander Hamilton stepped up in this crisis and put together a financial plan.
The American Revolutions was initiated due to the tension that existed between the thirteen American colonies, and Great Britain. There was a war debt that Great Britain had obtained while defending the American colonists after seven years of war along with helping out financially. As a solution to the debt, the British began passing legislation which raised taxes for the American colonies. The British believed or envisioned a single empire with Parliament as the supreme authority. Only Parliament could make laws for all the people, including the American colonists.
I will be focusing on just a few key areas that have been struck due to the recession for President Obama and the Great Depression for President Roosevelt and how each man either fixed the problem or is attempting to. Here is just a short list of issues: unemployment rate, financial institutions and the stock market. Just like President Roosevelt, President Obama hit the ground running with his uncanny ability to act upon the economic crisis that was yet again effecting the American people. Obama scored major points with the people since within his first hundred days in office he was able to get congress a much needed stimulus package for their approval that would take care of the financial crisis the American people were facing with major businesses and financial institutions declining at a very fast pace. However, Roosevelt was facing a much worse scenario with an unemployment rate of nearly 25% after the stock market crash of 1929.

The poem was sent to his mother in a letter with the words “Here is a gas poem, done yesterday...Through this poem Owen tries to express the horrors of fighting through an resentful as well as bitter tone and unusually striking descriptions. The poem consist of four stanzas; each of which portrays the poets indignation about the tragedy of war using powerful auditory and visual imagery. The first stanza reflects the severe condition of the worn out soldiers which is implied by hyperbole, such as “All went lame; all blind”(line 6), expressing the vehemence of the poets feelings more than the tragedy of the soldiers.
