Ja eat yet? The Fray in their song “You Found Me” stated that “I found God at first and Amistad,” but that is completely wrong. I found God making sandwiches at 152 West Girard Ave, in all of places. I started this assignment looking for the best Italian hoagie in Philadelphia but also ended up finding the best sandwich shop in Philly. I searched on Google for the “best Italian hoagie in Philly.” WIP 610 am sports radio’s, Glen Macnow did a search of 60 or so shops that made Italian hoagies reported Philly.com (Mucha). (Eagles beating the Cowboys.) The atmosphere I was given from this hole-in-the-wall was where men could go to eat a heavenly sandwich, drink a root beer and get away for the time it takes to eat. As I walk into this little hole-in-the-wall, you noticed a chalk board above. The chalk board is filled inch to inch with sandwiches of all arrays. Paesano’s has 13 sandwiches plus the daily specials. Each sandwich has its own individuality. The Paesano, which is named after the store, is for beef lovers. The Paesano contains beef brisket, horseradish mayo, roasted tomatoes, pepperincino, sharp provolone and a fried egg (Baynes). The Paesano was featured on the Food Networks “Throw down with Bobby Flay.”(Baynes) “Throw down with Bobby Flay” is a show where Bobby Flay challenges other chef’s to their special recipes. I never saw the show for Paesano’s but watched Flay vs. Tony Luke’s cheese steak. For all the pork lovers, Paesano’s offers the Arista.
