My personal reaction to this book was to take a step back and examine my way of personally relating to people. In the process I managed to gain much knowledge that I can apply in my future methods of relating to people, as well as building relationships. I attempted to relate all that I had read in Ministering Cross-Culturally to my own experiences with others from different cultures. During the four month span of time I was in India, it was easy to spot times in which I was frustrated due to the way people related to not only me, but others also. It was if I were completely alone with no one to have fellowship and friendship.
Moreover, modern Sufism may not attract many conservative muslims because of its slight disassociation with Islam but Islamic oriented sufi Tarikas are still considered a path which solidifies the relationship with Islam. However in the United States and Canada Sufism is considered universal or new age movement brought about by muslim immigrants whose membership has mostly been Euro-American. As stated in number of papers by many researchers that Sufism was brought to this region in 1912 by an Indian Sufi teacher Hazrat Inaayat Ali Khan. Often times we can see that even thou this word is very common nowadays people do not know what it actually means and how to use this word properly. Everybody generated their own meaning for this term as well as many others. Even thou their concept of the word “Credit” may be correct, it may still differ from the meaning given by the accounting. In Brazil, Barbie has competition from local rival which has lower price and more realistic. However, Mattel found that they did not need a total overhaul their product to be successful, For example, Mattel launched Barbie with a painted head spot and dressed in Sari with universal Barbie in India. Book Report The book I did is “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin published by penguin in 2006. The genre of this book is non-fiction. I chose this book because when one person makes a decision to change the lives of others for the better; he deserves to be called a hero. Greg Mortenson is such person in my eyes. Greg saw his live change after making one promise to build a school in a remote village of Pakistan.
