God created the heavens and the earth as stated in the first chapter, first verse of the book of Genesis, found in the Old Testament. Genesis 1:27 also states that we as human beings, were created in God’s own likeness by him. We as Christian people are fully devoted the to the origin explanation found in Genesis and a few other books of the bible. Identity is a tough subject for many people as we have been given this earthly body as one identity, and our soul could be considered another identity. Christians, in order to move on to Heaven, need to make the two as one while keeping in the image of God.
I believe we think this because in the bible we are taught that god takes time to create and mold each individual. In the story of Popul VUH we are given generic creations multiple times. Where there is a Noah or Adam and Eve, in opposite there is they, human, daughter, or mold of the maker. When displeased with his work God created the great flood to wipe out anything not worthy in his sight. When displeased with their creations in Popul VUH the experiments were harshly removed, naturally they would become food.
In Genesis 2:7, gives more detail of the making of man and how he became a living being. Therefore taken from scripture God created man. The Christian/Biblical worldview of identity is given in Jeremiah 1:5, God knew who we were before he formed us. In Jeremiah 29:11, God has made a plan for everyone. The morals of an individual leads him/her on the path of good or evil.
Above all other areas of dogma within Christianity, monotheism tops the list. Monotheism is the belief in one God who rules over all. This one God is the creator, and stabilizer of the universe we reside in. Christianity also believes in the Bible being the only set of scripture inspired by the word of God; Virgin Birth; martyrdom; the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; the second coming of Christ; the creation of the world through the one true God; life after death; Hell; Paradise after death; and the Holy Trinity. Above all of these dogmas, the faith in a one creator God who rules the universe is the most important.
Because the Prime Mover existed he set of a chain of reactions which caused the world into existence. The Prime mover caused the movement of the cause and effect chain however the Prime Mover itself did not move as it was not subject to cause and effect. Therefore the Prime Mover cannot be described as a craftsman. Another attribute of the Judeo Christian concept of god is that god is all loving and also that he interacts with his creation. This is seen in the Bible when miracles occur and also when god punishes the world.
This story is an example of creatio ex nihilo. It shows how God created everything out of nothing. God is portrayed as being omnipotent because whatever he says basically happens. In the Bible, each time God made something, it would ‘God said’; this shows how powerful he is. Because he used to say it and it would just happen.
Planet Wise: A Book Review In the book “Planet Wise,” written by Dave Bookless, we see a very compelling argument in favour of creation care being more than a simple care for the environment around us; for Bookless, creation care is written into the DNA of every Christian in the world. Not only is caring for creation a reflection of God’s will for the world, but it is something all Christians should do as an act of worship. All Christians are called to meet together, read the bible, pray and share the Good News; which is a joy held by all believers, but creation care is also essential to following Jesus. Bookless lays out his work in the same manner as the biblical story, moving from creation to Jesus and everything in-between. This creative format is followed in this review.
It also gives us a very monotheistic view of God to oppose the idea of many gods or that there is no God. Clearly it is one God created here in Genesis. It also provides us with the beginning of redemptive history for mankind; he fall of man and his need for salvation (NIV 2-3). Summary: Genesis in its Greek meaning means “origins” and the Hebrew word is translated “In the Beginning (Marty 8). Genesis chapter one takes us through the beginning of the universe.
Up until his voyage on the HMS Beagle, Darwin, like all others, believed in a traditional Biblical creation of all life forms. (http://anthro.palomar.edu/evolve/evolve_2.htm). Biblical creation of all things stated that all life forms, all plants, everything, was created by God alone. This was in a time when there was a very limited variety of creation theories. People’s views on life were very different to those today.
Additionally, God reveals Himself to His creation through His Word (John 1:1-18). Through both general and special revelation, the character and nature of God is revealed to humanity. God is. God is omnipotent (Matthew 19:26), omniscient (1 Samuel 2:3), and omnipresent (Jeremiah 23:24 & Matthew 18:20). He was and is and always will be (Exodus 3:14).
