The line between love and lust is a thin one, which keeps getting thinner when feelings are involved. Lust is described as infatuation one being has for another. To get a clear picture of the line between lust and infatuation, one must know the definition of these two words. Infatuation is defined as an intense, but passionate, or admiration for someone or something. Love is defined to be a strong affection towards someone or something. Love can be shown towards many different things other than humans. A person can have a love for their pet, food, and even the air we breathe. A sense of strong obsession with something or someone is often associated with infatuation. Infatuation tends to seem like love to the person but in reality, love is very different. Love is a strong emotional connection that generally takes a longer time to develop then the feelings of infatuation. Infatuation is a feeling that is more dangerous than love. Being obsessed with someone or something can last past the point of love and make it to where the obsession is life threatening. In “A Woman Killed with Kindness”, a married woman tries to deal with the fact that she has performed a state of infidelity. Even though she has realized what she has done, her outside lover will not accept her choice of continuing to pursue her marriage. Therefore, it is as if she is torn between love and lust. The male character in “Women killed with Kindness” felt like he was in love with the married women. “I am a villain if apprehered to deed” is the male character expressing his passion and love for the married women. The male character feels like the love between him and the women is powerful enough for to leave her husband and family behind.
