Beauvoir outlines the idea of love being two factors, authentic and unauthentic love, between the two genders. According to Beauvoir women treasure and experience love as total devotion, claiming herself as a gift to the man she loves. Men rather view love as being in control, beings that are capable of handling their lives and gaining supremacy without assistance (2010). Women therefore are seen as depending on men and must gain power, independence, transcending with the aid of man (2010).
Why do women return to their cheating partners? Many people, women in particular return to their partners who would constantly cheat on them and show disrespect their relationship. From an outsider’s point of view, it is the most irrational decision a woman would make, but why would these people come back again to their partners who clearly disrespected their bond and would most likely do it again? Reasons may vary from total love and devotion or the hope that the cheater will change, but the most crucial is monophobia, the fear of being alone. Firstly, when someone is totally devoted to their love interest it may be hard to turn a conscious eye to their imperfections and faults.
Jealousy in fact can be both a vice and a virtue, believe it or not… Jealousy is an emotion experienced by one who perceives the love, attention or affection that is being given to a 3rd party, when it should rightfully…in their mind be given to them. For example, a jealous lover may dislike their partner spending time with members of the opposite sex, because they feel they are rightfully the sole recipient of their partner's attention and although this sounds quite selfish, it is perfectly natural to feel this way. Jealousy is taken to be synonymous with envy. It is defined to be a mourning which one entertains, at another's well being due to a view that ones excellence is in consequence lessened. Its distinctive malice comes from the opposition it implies to the supreme virtue of charity.
Love and lust, how does one define it? Love is defined as a deep, tender feeling, an intense desire and attraction toward a person willing to make a relationship of emotion and romance. Lust, known as an intense or uncontrolled sexual craving for a person of attraction. Most consider lust as more of an infatuation. A lustful relationship only involves a physical attraction.

Elements of Romantic Comedies Romantic comedies have grown from everyday comedies to include very specific elements that distinguish them from the normal. One of the main elements of romantic comedies is that the idea of love and its shift from the thought that women should love their husbands more than men love their wives, as well as the belief that sex is something that the man should obtain whenever he asks for it because men are the bread-winners of the home.
