Winner-Take-All Politics; a book which defends the middle and lower class by stating that the richest 1% is getting richer because of political forces. The authors argue that the structure of our government has created economic woes and inequalities in our society, that interest groups play a big part in politics, and that those at the top of the economic ladder use their power to better themselves economically, leaving the rest the USA, the 99% struggling to maintain economic stability. The structure of the government has contributed tremendously to US economic woes and inequality. A political model that that fits the book’s political beliefs would be majoritarianism. Majoritarians believe that decisions should be made by a numerical majority of its members, in other words, decisions in the US should be made by the whole country, not the few in Congress and the House that decide what laws are passed and who are influenced by monetary bonuses from outside sources. This would be the most efficient way to handle our politics, that way everyone has a say, instead of the rich doing what’s right for the rich and leaving the middle and lower social class struggling. We can make it an obligation for every US citizen to vote, but that still does not fix the fact that there will still be uneducated votes in the ballot. That is why there are fragmented structures in the government who delegate whether to pass laws or not after deep research. I prefer that than having people passing bills and laws without knowing the outcome of passing such a law. I do not agree with such a fragmented government structure since it takes so long for necessary bills to be passed; however, educating the public about what they are voting and offering bonuses or some kind of promotion for voting and attending classes would eliminate fragmented governmental structures
