I havce known since from the time that I was little that I wanted to do something healthcare Up until I discovered the Physician Assistant career, I wanted to be a doctor, but was hesitant to do so because of all the schooling, responsibilities, and extra stress that goes along with it. I am not saying that being a PA does not have responsibilities and is not stressful, but in comparison to a doctor, these items are considerably less of an issue. As I stated in my first reflection, I have a true passion for people and for helping them. NO matter what their problem may be, I am always trying to be the “helper” and do anything I can to make their day a little better than it was before. Having a career that is designed specifically to help people will fit me perfectly. Not only do I love to help people, I also love the subject matter that goes along with being a physician assistant. In school, I always hated math, and although I was good at English, I disliked that as well. The only subject matter that I actually found interesting and that I wanted to learn were and still are the health sciences. Maybe I sound like a nerd, but I actually look forward to my cell biology class. I think that this, more than anything, says a lot about why I…show more content…
I still have a passion for people and the subject matter that it involves. After shadowing some PA’s, I now have a greater sense of what the profession stands for and what one does in the profession, and it only makes me work harder towards my goal of having a long-term career as a physician assistant. There are so many other students around me that have no idea what they want to do with the rest of their lives, and I feel so lucky to know what I want to be when I “grow-up”, so to speak. I cannot picture myself doing anything else, and I can’t wait to move forward to achieve my goal of becoming a physician
