What Is a Hero?

As kids, almost all of us have been daydreaming of being a hero. The hero of our dreams is very different from the heroes of our days. When you are a child, you see heroes as the character on television that has super powers, and can fly above the city saving people and the world from mayhem and destruction from the villains. As a child, I remember turning the television on every Saturday morning and Sundays mornings to see my favorite TV programs such as Superman, and The One Million Dollar Man, or coming home after school to see other super heroes' characters on TV. As a child, we picture these characters as strong, brave, and noble and this entire characteristic fill the definition of a hero in a child's imagination. If anyone asked me, what a hero is when I was a child, I probably would answer back saying it is Superman or The One Million Dollar Man. It is amazing how our ideas and the way we think change as time passes, and we age and mature as we grow, so our ideas of a hero change too. The hero of my past is not the hero of my days. Today as an adult I look back on the days I was a child, with no conviction's or knowledge of what a hero was; it was so childish a make believe. Growing up makes, you realize that hero's are among us, and there are regular people like any of us, we start to see our teachers as heroes, the police officer, the firefighter, the paramedics, we even see our President's as heroes, and all the entire regular people among us. These are the people we respect and admired for protecting and educating us, people whom dedicate, there self to serve others. As an adult, I start realizing that a hero is very different from what I was costume to see as a child. The word hero has many definitions and meanings, and I do not want to give a definition from a dictionary it will be strictly factual. In this present day's my ideas of a hero has
