For example how else could the activity be done and would anyone benefit from it ? By working in this way we are constantly learning about our own way of working and trying to improve . | 1.4 Describe how own values, beliefs systems and experiences may affect working practice Everyone has been brought up in a different way . We are a multi racial and multi cultural society with very many different ways and beliefs about how to eat ,dress behave and worship and very often it is only natural to think that our own way is the right way .This can lead to the thinking that others are wrong if they do things differently but this can badly affect the way people work together. Some may begrudge a colleague for doing a task a certain way because they think it is wrong but in another culture it is considered acceptable .
Lack of clarity of purpose can be a risk and a legal issue leading to disputes. The major legal principle here is that, companies should always endeavor to clarify and understand each and every clause of the contract so that they know what they are committing themselves too. It lessens on the misery caused during times of disputes. No matter how easy and simple it may appear during the contract signing process, it becomes totally complicated to understand and agree upon a common interpretation of ambiguous clauses when disputes come up. For instance, in the simulation given, there were ambiguous clauses like “ordinary requirements change” which became a source of conflict because the software user and system requirements changed over time which were had to just incorporate into the contract because of the big effect they had on the project costs and
PAD 515 Week 3 Discussion Carver is missing some very basic values and attitudes. He is missing being considerate, respectful, fair, cooperativeness. The changes that Carver needs to make are numerous. The changes will be difficult for him to sustain, as they are not his “style”, but change can be achieved, as with anything, if he works on his values and attitudes. It will more than likely take his subordinates and co-workers even longer to trust that he has changed and that he will adhere to his new found values and attitudes.
This approach strength is multitasking to get the job complete. Weakness The weakness of the behavior approach is that if there are no organizational skills to continue a thriving business, this leader will be unbalanced, unless they figure out how to combat the situation. Introduction François de la Rochefoucauld stated, “the only thing constant is change.” Change can be very difficult within an organization, and our personal lives. When leadership commits to a change, the message must be that the change is not an option. But the message that often comes across is “We’d like you to change, we’re asking you to change, we implore you to change, please change…” Whenever people have the option not to change, they won’t. Change should be implemented utilizing strategies that allow employees to embrace it. Organizations tend to fail miserably because they downplay or ignore the human pain of change.
The way you tell someone to do something, may be ok to one person, but it could be offensive, or threatening to another. When you offend that person, it is then when you have to be the bigger person and fix things. If not, the work place will not be very comfortable to work in for the both of you and it could effect the people around you, too. Another example in this area would be how you spend your time. Time management is very important in all aspects of life.
For my research paper I chose to focus on Lil Wayne. I admire him because he is hard working and he has gone through a lot to achieve his American dream and he never gave up on it. Lil Wayne's American dream was to have a better life for himself and move his family out of the ghetto. He had been trying to do that since he was young and then he finally got discovered at the age of 13 by Birdman who was a well-known local producer. He took Lil Wayne to the top and even though he had to drop out of high school it was wroth it because he is now worth over 24 Million dollars.
They also struggled with understanding the difference between their ‘best alternative’ and the lens assigned ‘best alternative’. Ethical lenses adopted by individuals tend to influence decision making by affecting how problems and conflicts are approached. Your ethical lens of preference makes you ‘blind’ to the other approaches and makes it difficult to see the benefits of the other lenses and weaknesses of your own lens. This adds tension to groups because what seems like the best solution to a problem to a single team member might be completely inappropriate to another. The team found that these different approaches can create more issues within a team or group if you don’t understand that everyone has their own ‘right approach.’ To a rights and responsibilities lens approaching an issue head on and dealing with the conflict directly might not be fun, but it is necessary in order to move past the problem in the most efficient way possible.
First, he explains that we will experience emotional pain when we recognize that the work we would love to do might just be unavailable enough to make us doubt that we can proceed. Maisel states, “This is an emotional suffering that researchers haven’t examined: the pain of wanting to do certain intellectual work but not being capable of it.” He then goes on to discuss ways to help your brain to be its best. This can range from silencing the self-talk that can rob you of your confidence, to making fewer excuses about why you don’t have the time, patience, or ability to think. Secondly he points out that choosing the intellectual work that matches your native intelligence, or in other words, staying in your comfort zone. He tells us to find an area of work that isn’t too difficult which enables you to do work that makes use of all your strengths.
You must think about the point of life is to complete your goal so why let other thing get in your way. Having individualism will help this. It helps because you’re not comparing yourself to others. You feel that if you have respect for yourself and you like whatever you do you’ll be fine. If you don’t have individualism you will always want to have what she or he has or what they do.
