WELCOME EVERY DAY WITH GRATITUDE: By: Joseph Abraham V. Bibal Every day is called a PRESENT because it is a GIFT to be here and now in the today. In reality we only LIVE EACH MOMENT AS IT HAPPENS. We embrace today so we can start living. YESTERDAY is gone and we keep both a memory and a lesson hopefully. Most people remember only people, feelings and the event. Wise people understand "Why" it happened. TOMORROW is always a "not yet" that is constantly moving ahead of us. We look forward towards it as a direction. We receive the gift of the PRESENT by becoming fully aware of every sensation, feeling, ideas, passion, event and people as they emerge or unfold. We OBSERVE without judgment - without calling anything good or bad, better or best. Are good or bad colors? Are there good or bad sounds? Resist every temptation to impose or to deny. Take a look at a child with joy at its innocence. Accept the old for the experience and struggle and wisdom. Respect the broken heart, wounded, and inflected for the unique challenge of their difficulties. Enjoy a good book. Feel nourished by the warmth of the sun. Dance to the tune of the music inside your heart and soul. Enjoy a good sleep. Embrace your child tightly; listen to his story with full attention. Support his every attempt to walk. Snuggle close with your partner. Give a long kiss. Smell a flower. Watch the stars. Listen to the rain. Enjoy every bite of food. And at the closing of the day, PRAY for the poor, suffering, wounded, lost, naked, insane, that God may grant them the purpose they serve and be healed when their end will come. May they serve an instrument in bringing some people to the Lord and the acceptance of the mystery and wonder of nature and the universe. Give thanks for anniversaries and birthdays. Give thanks for long life and long shared relationships with all its ups and downs, twists
