According to "Emergency Department Services" (2012), “Walton Regional Medical Center is very focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our emergency room operations and understands that no one wants to wait in an emergency situation.” An emergency room is a part in a hospital that delivers care to patients with critical afflictions, trauma and other medical emergencies. Located in Walton County, Walton Regional Medical Center is a 77-bed facility and opened its doors in 1956. Walton County is experiencing a rapid growth of 4.87%. The population in 2000 was around 60,687 and is expected to grow to 107,374 by 2011. (Health Management Associates, 2011). To house the increasing need of services I have decided to renovate the ER department. Renovating the emergency room will make a significant transformation in the time and accessibility in the increase of the volume that is expected. WRMC emergency department will deliver superiority health care aid to community. As previously stated, the emergency department provides patients with rapid treatment for sudden illnesses or trauma. To provide sufficiently and effectively to the patients, there is a need for enhancing the pre-existing facility or build new ones to continue to grow with the population. Health care services are vital for individuals to continue to thrive and stay and be healthy. It is also imperative that the community has a facility that is readily accessible when needed in a prime location.
