Health care marketing analysis Brandy Marsh HCS 539 May 14, 2012 Debbie Schrager Health care marketing analysis According to The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (n.d.), “prenatal care has been recognized as the cornerstone of our health-care system for pregnant women since the beginning of the twentieth century” (public health importance). Prenatal care is an important aspect of a woman’s pregnancy. For some women obtaining prenatal care can be difficult so prenatal clinics have become a valuable resource. Organizations such as Planned Parenthood of Southern New Jersey offer reduced or sliding scale pricing for women who cannot afford prenatal care. Marketing for Planned Parenthood is vital to the organizations success.
In this present day many nurses have indeed contributed to modern medicine like Margaret Sanger. Margaret Sanger devoted her life to legalizing birth control and making it available to woman in the 1800s although she faced many challenges she did not give up until it was legalised and women had access to birth control. This has made life much easier for women nowadays to plan they futures before having children and preventing children been born with diseasesand unwanted pregnancies can be avoided instead of having abortions. People may not agree with the way Margaret went about it and may say she was racist but all races today use birth control pills. Margaret Sanger was born in 1879 in Corning, New York.
Many hospitals are requiring nurses to have a BSN degree to decrease mortality rates in patients and improve patient care. In a article written in 2013 by the American Association of College of Nursing, nurses who pose a BSN lower mortality rates, fewer medication errors, and positive outcomes are all linked to nurses prepared at the Baccalaureate level. The Supreme Court legalized abortion in the United States during 1973 with the court case Roe v. Wade (Saad 1). Many women choose to have abortions because of medical necessities. For example a woman with diabeties can develop a codition called hyperemesis gravidarum, this disease threatens heart failure. The only way to cure it is abortion (International Encyclopedia of Marriage and Family 3). Most people agree with keeping abortions leagalized during the first trimester because of the health of the mother or the health of the unborn child (Saad 1).
She and Mendelsohn then setup a Breast Care Center centered around the woman. The destination postcard replaces the Rider’s analysis on whether to do it with figuring out how to do it 5. At the beginning of page 82, the author started talking about SMART goals. SMART goals (specific, measurable, relevant, timely) address the problems of ambiguity and irrelevance, but work best in steady state rather than change situations. 6.
1.Brush your teeth. What's the connection between the teeth and the ovaries, one might ask. Seriously, I thought that this was weird until I read the article by the Journal of Periodontology, saying that, "…women who needed fertility treatments had higher levels of gum bleeding and inflammation than those who conceived naturally". So, just brush and get a professional cleaning every after six
These computer based systems are used to direct nurses in the clinical decision-making process. The software is designed to identify specific patient characteristics, such as weight and drug allergies, and to match them to a computerized clinical database that includes information such as safe medication ranges and lab values that require verification prior to medication administration (Jennifer B. Lomoine & Helen M. Hurst, 2012). The way this information was expressed in this article was very informative. Medication errors can happen at any time, but I never thought there were so many errors in administering medication to infants. After reading the article I would agree that the technology of smart pumps would help in reducing medication dosing error.
The President of People for the American Way, Michael Keegan says this is very critical healthcare for millions of low income women. He thinks that if the Republican Party was really interested in preventing unplanned pregnancies, they would be more supportive of organizations that provide affordable contraception. Keegan said that if they Republican Party are interested in public health, they would also be more interested in helping women defend themselves against diseases. He said that if these bills do become laws that millions of American women will lose their access to family planning and reproductive health services. He thinks this bill is
Eloisa Morales English 1301 March 22, 2011 Pros and Cons on Breastfeeding We have all heard “breast milk” is best, however as our society changes and as time constraints mothers go for convenience verses what is best. Within the past century more women have left the home and gone back to work, making breastfeeding less common. The need to reeducate and encourage women to breastfeed is imperative, but the choice is still ultimately the mothers. Breastfeeding has many pluses, the bond created between mother and baby is very special.
