Using Balance to Gain Fairness

I was born on September 30th, 1996. When I entered my early teens, I discovered the Zodiac and my Zodiac sign: Libra. I am a girl, as indecisive as the ocean before making a decision but as immovable as a boulder once that decision is made. I am a girl who understands every side of the argument. I am a girl whose central purpose is to find balance and justice in everything she does. There is nothing more important to my sense of self than to find balance in all aspects of life. I find myself looking for balance in my schoolwork, my relationships, my family, my hobbies. When I have lived my life completely, I wish to be remembered as a woman who can empathize with every side of the argument before making a decision. I wish to be remembered as a fair Libra who takes in every side of the proverbial story and weighs all of the possibilities to come up with the best decision. I wish to be remembered as a woman who will use the idea of balance to make fair and just decisions. I want to be remembered as fair. When I look to a role model, someone to strive to live up to, I always find myself pondering the characteristically Libran teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. He is arguably the most influential leader in the last three centuries. There are many men and women in the world who are Libras, but Gandhi was the only one to really embody the basic traits of a Libra in such an influential way. He is quoted as saying, “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” His quotation describes the formula for happiness through balance. Gandhi was a fair man, a fair Libra, and he used balance to get there; just as I will use balance to become a fair woman, a fair Libra.
