Urbanization: Megacities General The big picture of the ideal city and urban life is described as busy, amazing and beautiful. Aside from traffic, pollution, high cost of living, slums, and crime, the city provides the best hope of edcuation and a desirable income We should look forward to the growth of cities because of what they bring with them. Uprisings in cities brings along many beneficial factors such as increasing in the economy, peole, and diversity among the cities. The root of problems associated with urban life are the "weak, ineffective and usually unrepresentative city governments." Specific In Sao Paolo, Brazil, the rich and poor people are isolated from each other. Rich people are located behind fortress, and barricaded in their rich neighborhoods. Meanwhile the poor residents live in the slums. Many houses are too expensive for the poor , so they tend to reside in cheap homes distant*away from their jobs. This isolation interact well and have to travel miles. Problems string up such as crime and violence as well as social stresses. The bar -girl phenomenon in Bangkok, Thailand is when women work in the bars inviting foreign men to have drinks. The phenomenon took place mainly after the war in Vietnam when many soldiers began to flood the city. Corruption is the largest problem faced in governing Lagos, Nigeria because with the huge population government officials have difficulty controlling the city. Tax collections are not accurate and bribes are impossible to avoid. This leads to their black market because since much of the population is poor and uneducated as well as jobless, people do whatever to make some money. Hyderabad is getting it right because of its technological advances and flourishing government. The steps being taken to put this on par with “First World” cities are controlling their money problem.
