Urban Legends has been around since 2006. My business is owned and operated by myself, Mr. Harris. The purpose of my business is to give young men and men of the Atlanta, Georgia market area a style like no other. The apparel that is sold is Lenin suits, Suits, Polo shirts, jeans, shorts, Retro sneakers, casual dress shoes and also nice long sleeved collared shirts. The apparel is to target men that like to present themselves in a well dressed professional look that can transform into an after hours, casual elegant style. Here at Urban Legends we believe in discipline and honor. We have principles, policies, expectations or guidelines. This Code of Conduct reflects our values and defines the common sense behaviors required of all of us to ensure that Urban Legends maintains legal and ethical business practices. The guidelines for the code of conduct are simple and to be understood by all employee’s. Customer experience is core, a commitment to our customers, Give back to our community, Loyalty, Integrity and Respect are all a part of our core foundation for COC. Macy’s, Dillard’s and Sear’s all have basically the same COC as Urban Legends. Each employee of the store knows the action if they do not follow the guidelines in place. There was once a young man in the store shopping. He had seen a shirt that he just had to have. In the event of doing the right thing, he decided to do the wrong thing and place the shirt in his bag. When he did so there were five employees on duty and two of the employees seen what had just transpired. The first employee seen the customer shoplifts and did not act. The second employee that seen the shoplifter shoplift responded to the situation and took all of the proper percussions. In the law Federal Sentencing Guidelines are rules that set out a uniform Sentencing policy for convicted Federal defendants in the United States Federal Court system. (Albonetti, 1997). Despite the first employee not responding to the theft situation, the second employee did. The second employee maintained her cool, she was professional and she handled the situation with honesty and integrity. She also kept her loyalty to the company. She did hold her ground and she held her word to abide by and understand the code of conduct. The relative location of the store is great. However, downtown Atlanta does not mean that you won’t have shoplifters and burglars. Your location can be perfect but, in the end no one is
