Corley, 273 F.3d 429 (2d Cir. 2001) I think that if you purchase any media you should be able to make personal copies because you purchase the movie and it is now your property. Also; the value of the media usually decreases after opening it anyway and because it is necessary to have a back up copy. In my opinion it will be very hard to balance between the rights of both groups on this issue because there is people for it and people against it. I really don’t see the big problem. I know when peoples make movies that expect to make a big profit. Whether their is peoples who is buying the movies than making lots of copies than selling to peoples cheaper than the original cost of the movie. Nine times out of ten peoples gone go the cheaper way. There is really great movies that I rather have the original copy because I would want the best pictures. Some times copies don’t have the high debt color as the original. Also; the audio don’t be the same. I called them washed out version because they can be so horrible. Me personally would rather have the original version; so I don’t have to worry about all the risk. I rather pay the full price than pay half and risk losing my money on
