The population also has specific characteristics that are taken into consideration though out the study, and might include age, gender, employment statues, or education and are known as variables; variable meaning that the specific characteristics within the population may vary from unit to unit. Two different types of variables include dependent and independent variables. Dependent variables represent the output or effect that the population within the experimental unit undergoes. Once you have defined the cells and the formulas for linking them together, you can enter your data. You can then modify selected values to see how all the other values change accordingly. This enables you to study various what-if
Problem solving software is developed by experts; this software allows the helpdesk person to assess the informational database to make critical decisions when sorting targeted information. The response to each question has a cascading effect prompting additional questions and the end result of providing a solution as required. Call tracking can be achieved online or on paper. The call tracking system tracks a series of information, such as, the date, time, length of help-desk or on-site call; the cause and solutions to problems that are addressed; identifying who did what and when; and finally addressing how each call was

The book models curriculum and community aligned oral history and essay writing. Students can apply the insights gained by Red to their ongoing actions as citizens of their community and their study of American history. English teachers can assign community oral history research as modeled in the book by Ms. Miller in which they research the ways their community has reacted to discrimination concerns or the history of a community center/house of worship. This can be in tandem with Social Studies colleagues plus allow the English teacher to include informational literacy integration of knowledge and ideas by having students analyze various accounts of segregation as shared in history texts or documents and as presented in this historical novel. Most importantly this well researched historical fiction work fully addresses the CCSS standard 11 for responding to literature in that in reading it students can analyze the narrative by making connections to other history documents/texts, cultural/race relations perspectives and personal events (death, loss, sibling relationships, boy/girl relationships, friendship, family

Disproportionate Minority Representation in Special Education: St. Paul School District Abstract This paper is written for the purposes of a sociology graduate seminar, Social Organization. Institutionalism and Resource Dependency Theory are utilized to set the framework for disproportionate representation of minority students in special education. Disproportionate numbers of minority students have and will continue to be academically grouped in special education if academic scholarship is not exposing the shortcomings of the institution. Given this national problem, this study is designed to investigate aspects of funding and student evaluations to identify the structural problems that face special education departments, specifically in St. Paul Minnesota. Unobtrusive and qualitative research will be conducted to answer the overarching questions associated to the theoretical framework: (1) If special education programs are not successful for minorities, why are they still being utilized?
