It can happen to anybody young or old and there are many indicators/signs of when physical abuse is taking place however, the list below is only an indicator not a definite that abuse is happening.

Both young children and adults can be physically abused. Physical abuse includes a person being hit, punched, kicked, pinched, choked, smashing of furniture and personal belongings, threats of violence, locked in and out of the house etc. SEXUAL ABUSE: is when a person is forced or tricked into taking part in any kind of sexual activity.

Emotional/psychological: Withdrawal, depression, Cowering and fearfulness, Change in sleep Patterns, Agitation, confusion, change in behaviour also Change in appetite/weight.

Identifying signs could be swelling, redness, cuts, bruising tenderness and infections of the genitals or possibly infections of the mouth, blood stained underwear or torn underwear.
Domestic Violence is happening all over the world. It is known as domestic abuse, spousal abuse, child abuse, or intimate partner violence. It can be broadly defined as a pattern of abusive behaviors by one or both partners in an intimate relationship such as marriage, dating, family, friends, or cohabitation. Domestic violence has many form including physical aggression (hitting, kicking, biting, shoving, restraining, throwing objects), or threats thereof sexual abuse, emotional abuse, controlling or domineering, intimidation, stalking, passive/covert abuse (neglect), and economic deprivation. Domestic violence may or may not constitute a crime depending on local statues, severity, and duration of specific acts, and other variables.
