Domestic Violence is happening all over the world. It is known as domestic abuse, spousal abuse, child abuse, or intimate partner violence. It can be broadly defined as a pattern of abusive behaviors by one or both partners in an intimate relationship such as marriage, dating, family, friends, or cohabitation. Domestic violence has many form including physical aggression (hitting, kicking, biting, shoving, restraining, throwing objects), or threats thereof sexual abuse, emotional abuse, controlling or domineering, intimidation, stalking, passive/covert abuse (neglect), and economic deprivation. population. That is terrible! I don't see how people can be so mean. They really need to put a stop to it. Maybe have better laws. Domestic violence is very scary. I didn't realize there was so much violence in America. There are two main types of domestic violence as well. There is physical abuse. Where the victim gets hit, slapped, punched, or bit. There is also verbal abuse. Verbal abuse includes withholding, bullying, defaming, defining, trivializing, harassing, interrogating, accusing, blaming, blocking, countering, diverting, lying, berating, taunting, putting down, edifying, discounting, threatening, name-calling, yelling and raging. Which I have talked with people that have been abused physically and verbally and they said they would choose the physical abuse because bruises heal quicker than your heart does. I have known quite a few people that had to deal with domestic violence. I'm glad I didn't have to go through as much as some people I know. I'm also glad that the people I know that had to deal with it don't have to anymore because they got away from the person. I'm glad I got a chance to take Victim Advocacy.
