Unit 302 Schools as organisations In this assignment I will be talking about the structure of education and how schools are organised in terms of roles and responsibilities. I will also show that I have an understanding of school ethos mission, aims and values. I have an understanding of legislation, policies and procedures and understand the wider context in which schools operate. 1.1 Every three- and four-year-old child is entitled to free early years education in an Ofsted inspected setting. The funding is available for 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year.
Then I began my journey into learning. Math, science, and language always took place in the morning periods, which I think was good idea since the brain functions better at the beginning of the day. Each class was forty-five minutes long interrupted by a ten minutes activity because as a little kid after twenty minutes of lecture the brain needs a break. I also had a ten minutes break to prepare for the next class. Around eleven, we usually took twenty-five minutes lunch break and if you are lucky enough and you live very close to the school you can go home and get your lunch.
A lot of schools have morning or afternoon session to cope with the demand. Depending on when the child’s birthday is will depend when they get a funded nursery place. Children with birthdays on or between March 1s and 31st August will be eligible to attend their place in the Autumn term a child whose birthday is on or between September 1st and December 31st are eligible to attend in the spring term and the children whose birthdays are on or between January 1st and the last day of February are eligible to attend in the summer term. Although a lot of schools have adapted these intakes to fit in their own agendas. ALL staff who work in a nursery setting are fully qualified professionals and have a duty to provide pre-school education aims, which encourage children to learn to play and develop.
