With positive behaviour around, children find it much easier what is expected of them. Starting from a young age having boundaries with children is crucial so as they grow they will know what behaviour is acceptable and what behaviour isn't. They need consistency so that way staff have to work close with partent/carers to let them know what boundaries we have in our settings and try and get the partents to use our techniques at home so the children dont get confussed. Children need a lot of consistency in their lifes to help them know what is good behaviour. This also helps children take responsibility for their actions and also they are part of the process.
Also they need to develop empathy. These are all part of positive self esteem, this in turn will lead to a child having self confidence, the ability to form good relationships and the development of skills which will help them cope with the things life throws at them. Within the setting, children are given strategies to help raise their self esteem leading to improved self confidence this, in turn, will help them protect themselves from harm and make decisions about their own safety. These strategies include circle time, pastrol support and nurture groups where children are encouraged to talk about their feelings in a safe environment. We also have an extensive enrichment program that allows children to gain new experiences thus building their self esteem.
Schools should be able to make children aware of what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, as this will also have a positive impact on their development. Any professional working with children or young people is responsible for the care and well-being of those children. When parents/carers leave their children with us, they must feel assurance and trust that we have the best interest of their child and will protect them from harm. We as professionals have a duty to care for all their needs, be it, physically and emotionally all their needs must be supported, so that they can have a positive development. A child or young person has the need to feel safe in their learning environment in order to be able to develop and achieve at an early age.
They should try to help there kids reach there goals and make there future bright. Critical Thinking Questions 1. Being a good parent is just to be understanding in every situation that your child may or may not be getting into. They have to have the love and support for each child that they are raising. Just to always love the child to the fullest and make them feel like they are somebody in this world.
Explain why working in partnership with others is important for children and young people It is important to work in partnership with others so we can share information and concerns, so we can provide consistent care for children, in a secure and enabling environment. Also to help to keep the children safe from harm and if there is any concern regarding any child we can provide the help they need as soon as possible. It is important to work in partnership with parents, carers and guardians as care would then be consistent for the child as we would then develop a bond with the parents, which would mean the child could feel more secure in being parted from the parents, and that the level of care is the same at home as well as in the setting.
As an infant, we form our first relationship as an attachment with our caretaker. The development of the caretaker-to-infant bond is, in many ways, essential to the infant's survival and influences all later attachments and our overall emotional and social development. Infant’s experiences are critical to shaping the capacity to form intimate and emotionally healthy relationships. Empathy, caring, sharing, inhibition of aggression, capacity to love, and many other characteristics of a healthy, happy, and productive person are related to the core attachment capabilities formed during infancy and early childhood. Attachment is important because children need to have a sense of security in all aspects of their lives so that they can grow up to be healthy and productive adults.
Good parenting and high quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up. II. It is important to work in partnership with others because all agencies can share information and concerns to create a holistic view about children and young people in their care when any need arises, to help to keep the children safe from harm and promote their welfare, to diagnose a special need quickly in children and get the help that is needed to the child/family as soon as possible without confusing the child or their families. And as a pre-school setting it is good to know that you are not on your own if any concerns should arise about a child in the setting and that specialist help is available to all the children and young people if required.
