She is jealous because all the characters enjoy her husbands company more than hers and she is friendly to most characters. She is very controlling towards her husband to attract some of the attention he receives because she is very insecure. However even though Sue can bikker a lot towards her husband she seems to interact well towards Joe Keller as friends would interact in real life. Furthermore in real life there are some women who people call “gold diggers” meaning they just want the money so the fact that Sue encourages her husband to go see a “sick” patient to get a few more bucks helps undermine the normality of the scene. In the opening scene of All my sons, Chris Keller helps undermine the normality. He does this by falling in love with his dead brothers fiance, this rarely happens in real life so the fact that it is happening in the play undermines the normality. He also acts as what people may call a “fake”. This is shown when he gets into a huge argument with his father and as soon as he mother appears he immediately calms down and acts as if nothing ever happened: This rarely happens in real life. In the opening scene of All my sons, Frank Lubey helps undermine the normality. He believes in the horoscope that is being made for Larry Keller, this doesn’t really happen in real life so it undermines the normality of the opening scene. Furthermore the fact that he still helps Kate Keller believe that Larry is alive when everyone really knows that he can’t possibly be alive also undermines the normality.
