“Working at McDonald’s” Etzioni’s essay states that teens who hold a part-time paying job in fast food places, such as McDonald’s, are getting nothing educational from the job itself. After reading his piece, I have to say I highly concur with the point he is making. Having a “highly routinized” job has a lot of drawbacks, especially for teens who are slowly being weaned into the real world. Such jobs are somewhat of a tradition amongst high school students. However, they tend to interfere with school, are highly routinized, have no room for personal growth, creativity, initiative, and no entrepreneurship opportunities.
If these people miss the sandy beaches they should go to another beach. You cannot control where the vegetation grows. I think Congress should announce this and start funding for dams to conserve the water in these lakes. Cargo ships are wasting money by having to make more trips and this really is unfortunate but it is what is necessary at this time. It is a lot safer anyways.
He insists they would not eat as much if they knew that it was bad for them or if the industry put nutrition labels on their food. My outlook on this topic varied significantly from that of Zinczenko’s. I feel that it is not the fault of the fast food company. Neither would I put blame on the younger children who eat fast food. I would put most of the culpability on the parents who do not teach their kids how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and buy their children unhealthy food. I disagree completely that we as Americans suffer from lack of information about nutrition in fast food.
People are more cultured now and have more money to spend, so are looking for new holiday experiences. In this report I will give examples of the different Specialist Tourism providers that provide special products and service to their customers in a special market. The companies are small; web based, to large vertically and horizontally integrated. The large companies have high street shops for you to visit. Some of the companies only offer certain holidays, while the bigger ones offer multi holidays.
KFF should research the market to find the needs of the customers. Big companies could be the perfect place to start the research like what kind of orders they place and when they order. Other sort of information could be found in the census reports like type and age of population, income, religion, education, occupation will help decide the needs of other consumers. This will help narrow down requirements for catering business. If the population is young then may be more wedding parties, bachelor parties, Halloween parties or if the population is older then more of formal parties in the gardens and vineyards.
Many tourists enjoy exploring new opportunities and visiting Queensland’s wildlife. This is beneficial to the company as they offer a range of hikes to discover this real life experience. Another beneficial opportunity would be during different weather and drought seasons occurring. By using the funds that the resort gains from their environmental practices they can create activities including tours, sightseeing, and indoor relaxations that are therapeutic for the body and mind. Although they will need to invest their money into building covered areas for tours to still undertake commencement and hire new appropriate
In his article, he only focus on the negative parts for part-time job for teenagers and ignore the positive sides. Moreover, I wonder his point of view may out of date. His evidences from early years are unconvincing in today's circumstance. To begin with, Etzioni tries using two studies to support his opinion aboout working at franchising stores is no help for developing any skills for teenagers. The first one is a 1984 study by Ivan Charper and Bryan Shore Fraser.
Furthermore, postmodern tourism is said to break down traditional boundaries and replace them with a universe in which image, illusion and irony predominate (see also postmodernism). Third, other potential indicators of prestige include souvenirs, gifts, photographs, postcards and suntan, all of which can point to the relative affluence of the holidaymaker, and, in that sense, constitute symbols of conspicuous consumption. However, this association is
That’s why I don’t like, hate it even though those stories were so lame. In Conclusion, I hope I never get old and greedy like a republican. People should follow the ideas of transcendentalism and use romanticism in their creative forte, it will help make the world a better place or whatever it’s cool
Although the Hatchery provides a secure and peaceful lifestyle, it simultaneously takes any intuition and uniqueness from the humans produced there. People are defaced to the level of machines produced on an assembly line. Reading this novel has really made me appreciate the freedoms that we have come to automatically assume. Non conformity and inventiveness, two traits that are completely abandoned by the Hatchery, are highly encouraged in today’s times. It is surprising that the future is depicted this way by Huxley because it seems like more of a degeneration of mankind rather than an advancement.
