In this essay I will explain the difference between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. I will also give some of the challenges that students in an online learning environment face that are different compared to students at traditional institutions. Also I will explain what instructors can do to foster each type of motivation. What is the difference between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation? Intrinsic motivation is doing something interesting, enjoyable, the learning t permits, or the feelings of accomplish it evokes.
Expectations will be set when starting the course of this journey. As a teacher my passions and personal attitudes toward technology will determine my student’s outcome in reaching their goals. Students will be continuously engaged in a variety of educational and instructional technology activities and working together collaboratively. Integration of technology into the classroom will assist students in development of skills in art, science, reading, writing, math, etc. They will be able to view presentations, as well as present those of their own in verbal and non-verbal ways.
How are these strategies implemented in my Teaching Practice School? 4. Are these strategies successful? In investigating the above I hope to discover the benefits plus the ‘what’s’ and the ‘how’s’ of well practised Positive Classroom Management (PCM). Through this study I hope to be able to adapt my learning of PCM into a practical understanding and use it as a tool to create a teaching environment conducive to focused and engaged learning.

1.1 Teaching Role and responsibilities in education and Training The teacher should be qualified to teach the learners, and be able to identify key aspects of related current legislation and know how to challenge discriminatory behaviour and attitudes. They should be well prepared for their lesson, be able to provide the correct resources and information relevant to the course and be knowledgeable about the subject or in the case of covering for another teacher, know where to find information in order to answer questions from learners. Teachers should make an initial assessment the needs of learners prior to starting the course in order to assess their suitability to the course there are delivering. Lessons should be prepared and sessions well planned. Establishing good ground rules at the start of the lessons are an important part of the teacher’s role to ensure everyone has clear expectations within the classroom environment, this helps to ensure appropriate behaviour and respect for others within the class.
Techniques To Engage Students According to Catherine Sutton- Brady and Nicole Stegemann, when a student is actively learning within the classroom they become more engaged in lessons and will increase their logical thinking skills, as well as them understanding the course material deeper (237). When students became interested in a lesson teaching it is not difficult, there is more interaction within students and questions to be asked. There are more opinions being stated and effort being put into understanding the course. When we are actively participating in the learning experience, we are motivated to learn more. "... the passive student is the greatest challenge facing educators and finding ways to engage them is vital to teaching and learning success"(Cohen 1991).
What is Differentiated Instruction? Differentiated instruction is a way to reach students with different learning styles, different abilities to consume information and different ways of communicating what they have learned. The intent of differentiating instruction is to expand each student’s advancement and individual success by meeting each student where they are helping in the learning process. It’s an individualized instructional method. It is used to help students with diverse needs learn using a core curriculum.
That meant the instructor should select learning tasks that are worth learning and develop this content in ways that help students to appreciate their significance and application potential to analyze the students and identify learning styles, such as active or reflective students. These learning styles can be categorized with the relevance portion of Keller's ARCS model because they assist in matching a student's motives. The first subcategory in relevance strategies is goal orientation. Relevance strategies highlight how the students' previous experiences and skills can be used to help them understand, learn new concepts, and link to students' needs, interests, and motives. This strategy can help teach the concept of writing academic summaries, which are essential to incorporating sources in argument essays.
Peer inquiry promotes an extension of learning scaffolding as students can share their own interest and apply the knowledge gained to real questions. Reflection aids in development of understanding. Reflection can occur through peer discussion, teacher enquiry or individual contemplation. Characteristic 2 Summary A subject matter that engages the student provokes far greater involvement in their own learning and increases the ability to receive and retain the new information. Class discussion regarding these topics promotes an application of prior knowledge and the formation of questions beyond classroom learning.
As it relates to student skills, teachers should teach life skills such as social skills and occupational awareness and exploration by involving students in group or club activities. Finally, teachers should provide the student and parents with immediate feedback and work with the student’s parents and school faculty in creating and implementing an IEP that is tailored and meet the student’s needs (Center for Parent Information &
