Conclusion I believe that the role of the knowledge worker has changed, thanks mostly to technology. Most people have become so reliant on technology that they have become lazy. But the true knowledge workers do what is needed in search of more knowledge, and those are the real assets to the organization. This is a strict requirement, as it demands too much from individuals to always be motivated to promote the general happiness. I will first analyse Singer’s argument, which defends utilitarianisms demandingness and then go onto Williams’ argument, which attacks utilitarianism for being too demanding. Towards the end of this paper it should be evident that consequentialist moral theories such as utilitarianism demand too much from moral agents and are only useful to look at as a utopia where utility is maximized. The following example demonstrates the basic idea of utilitarianism. If my £100 could maximize utility more efficiently when I donate it to famine relief rather than spending it on new shoes utilitarianism would argue that it is morally wrong to do anything other than what maximizes utility, therefore it is morally wrong for me to buy the shoes (Stanford Encyclopaedia, 2003).

(Herbert 1) All in all, I believe what Tom Vander Ark describes about the scary level of income stratification on educational stratification relates to Herbert’s essay because they both stress that there is no balance. Also the low income class must pursue education and stop dropping out to obtain a position of leadership in the country. Leadership in the country will support the importance to fix problems like education, employment, economical structure and much
Some people see the use of technology as a useful tool, that enhances productivity and serves as a complement to human tasks while others believe that technology can make processes more complicated or that eventually in the worst case scenario, it can replace a person's job.
