The Trusted Leader A trusted an effective leader, must have vision and drive for what an organization should become (Satterlee, 2009). A leader not only has the passion to work but also has the passion to work with confidence. Therefore in order to become a trusted leader the leader must possess the basic characteristics of trust in order to carry out tasks efficiently. When these characteristics are used correctly they will enhance effective management within organizations. The three characteristics of trust that will aid each organization to its highest potential includes credibility, reliability, and self-orientation. Biblical leaders who were in tune with God are given clear strategies as to how they should achieve the goals that was placed before them. These leaders are called to serve as a symbol that stimulates and empowers their followers. As a Christian leader and non-Christian leader, they are held to high moral, ethical, and social standards. Individuals look up to them for direction and they are looking for someone who is reliable, but most importantly whom they can trust. Therefore, there is no better example of leadership than our Lord Jesus Christ. He declared, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (The Holy Bible, John 10:11). It is within this verse that we see the perfect description of a trusted Christian leader. He is one who acts as a shepherd to those “sheep” in his care, and is formed in the image of God with a servants' heart. He has the God given skills and talents that are guided by the Holy Spirit. In this perception, he has an influence on a specific group people that is directed to God's purpose, in which he effectively communicated with on different levels.
