There are so many people that attend colleges and better yet so many people in the world that you have never met before. These people could potentially be your best friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, or even future business partners. Everyday you see people you want to meet or even have conversations with individuals whom you may not even know/remember their name in the future. You may never even see them again. The need for connection and communication was an opportunity that Mark Zuckerberg oversaw. Mark Zuckerberg was the key Entrepreneur in The Social Network. He was a student at Harvard University that began with one idea many people had laughed at during the time. Who would’ve known that one simple idea made Mark Zuckerberg a billionaire. As discussed in class, Entrepreneurs portray several common traits and characteristics. Three traits that Mark Zuckerberg portrayed that had the most impact on the outcome of the business are creativity, self-confidence and vision. It is definitely possible to learn, acquire or emulate those character traits, but being an entrepreneur isn’t something you can read in a book or learn in a classroom and automatically just become. Entrepreneurship is a lifestyle that one has to choose and devote one’s life to. The Social Network teaches many lessons to not only aspiring entrepreneurs, but also to those who discourage against their peers ideas and beliefs. One important lesson learned from this movie is that no idea is a bad idea. Like I discussed earlier, Mark Zuckerberg’s peers merely laughed at him and his idea to create a social networking site. Zuckerberg started from the bottom with a fairly simple idea. His business plan made sense to him and the market at the time.
