In the book, The Road, by Cormac McCarthy the world is coming to its end and the mother is put into a complex situation. She has to choose whether she wants to take her own life or to stay there and help her child through these hard times in this world. The mother kills herself in the novel, but this is a good thing because now the father and son can have more food for themselves while surviving, if they get captured she wont be raped and beat up, and she wouldn't have to live in this horrible world. Of course, suicide is never right to do to yourself. Suicide is not the answer to your problems and will only lead you to a place for eternity. She probably shouldn't have done this because her son would need her love in these hard times. But
