Because their relationship is an affair, they cannot see each other in the way they want to very often and especially not while other people are around. They are not married to each other which make their relationship very wrong in that community and time- more so wrong than it would be now. John Procter understands that their secret must be kept, but finished, but Abigail doesn’t care that they were caught once and could be caught again. She just wants their relationship back and says, “Oh, I marvel, how such a strong man may let such a sickly wife be-” (miller 22) Abigail then comes to claim that Elizabeth, john’s wife, is “Blackening me (her) name in the village!” She is telling lies about me (her)!” (Miller 22) but he just gets angry at himself because it’s true, and threatens to whip her for talking about his wife that
I believe he viewed the battle between Beowulf and Grendel’s mother a battle between a mother seeking revenge and a killer of her son. If this were true then Beowulf would have seemed less heroic. If Tolkien viewed the battle this way it would be very insignificant to the rest of his claims throughout his writing. This would be why he did not include Grendel’s Mother in he
Antigone believes that without burying her brother he will not have a good after-life. Antigone even goes as far as burying him twice. Antigone is more admirable in that she is not selfish. She cared for her brother so much that she would go through all this trouble to give him a good after-life. She wanted to marry Haimon but sacrificed this to bury her brother.
Winston suggests they just walk out and never see each other again, to save them from being hopelessly lonely when they are forced to separate. Julia shrugs off the thought, she tells him she’s thought about it before. She tells Winston, “I’m rather good at staying alive.” (Orwell 137) Hope is shared between them as they realize the Ministry can only physically kill them; they cannot make them believe anything. This belief that Big Brother and the state of the country are unnatural and wrong is a belief they are not supposed to have. Julia means love while Winston means betraying
Either she was too weak to figure out her situation, or a lifetime of having everything handed to her made her simply not want to. Tom and Daisy left the very next day. And through how a stressed Daisy ran over Tom's mistress, Myrtle, causing her husband, George Wilson, to shoot Gatsby out of grief and confusion, it caused his death too. It still wouldn't have mattered if he hadn't died-Daisy and Tom still would've left. His dream of reliving the past was all he really had.
If Treplev loved her, her life would suddenly have a purpose and meaning. Without the love of someone she loves in return, Masha views life as pointless and death-like. Later in the play, Masha changes her mind and marries Medvedenko out of boredom, not love. Her life still depresses her, and she still yearns for Treplev. But being a wife and a mother give her new things to do and think about to kill time until she dies.
She did not even want to marry Curley, and live on the ranch. "I wasn't gonna stay no place where I couldn't get no where or make something of myself. So I married Curley." Curley's wife needed an escape from her previous life which must have been extremely bad for her to marry a person she did not like. I think Curley's wife's dream is important in "Of Mice and Men," because, it shows how different people suffer.
(2) Their will be less of a financial burden on the families (3) People will not have to endure a painful, draining, in remittable life, laid in a hospital or hospice bed. Telling a person they must live and live the most uncomfortable depressing way is unmoral; it would be the same thing as telling a women what to do with her body, other peoples religious views should not be able determine one’s life, the government should not be able to determine one’s life. Providing for your family in a great thing; however putting yourself into bankruptcy because you want to choose life for somebody that does not want to live and have a death full of pain is selfish. Caring about a person is listening to them and what they want. Holding on to somebody that does not want you to and putting the rest of your family in jeopardy is egotistical.
Although killing an innocent human being is wrong, I believe a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body and if she feels a baby isn’t right for her at the time of her pregnancy it’s her business whether or not to get an abortion. An excellent example of this is teenage pregnancy. There are TV shows all over TV now about it. An adolescent is neither mentally nor physically prepared for a baby. Many girls drop out of school and are forced to get a job to support their child.
She believes she “ran away” from her children, meaning it was something she did to cause their deaths. Shelley and Viktor both desperately want to create something beautiful and be able to keep it, but neither get the experience they had hoped for. Throughout the novel, the creature tries to find companionship, but is rejected. The first rejection comes from his creator, Viktor, who runs away after seeing what he brought into existence. Throughout the book, many have the same reaction.
