In a poor socioeconomic group, students are more likely to drop out of school; this happens since the environment around them does not allow them to achieve an academic goal or have parents who support them. The government should implement more programs to help in the contribution for poor families. With poverty, children can experience stress or depression, hence, not obtaining a career.
They're not understanding why it is so important to go to school. Schools lose a lot of money due to students cutting class. They're also missing lectures causing them to get fail classes. Schools should have harsher consequences, such as two hours of Saturday school every unexcused absence. Therefore, the students can make up the work they missed.
Some people oppose the DREAM Act because they think it encourages and rewards illegal immigrants and will attract other illegal immigrants creating migrations of whole families to enter into the U.S. Some Americans believe this Act is unfair because they may have to pay full tuition at state universities and colleges when immigrant students will have easier access to lower tuition to college because they are poor or minority. Students might want to drop out because they are struggling in school, getting bullied, have a health issue, have personal family problems, or just have a planned out future that doesn't require a high school diploma. Making teens do something they absolutely don't want to do, especially after they are 16, can result in even worse outcomes. “Efforts to raise the age usually come up against the argument that requiring students to stay in school when they no longer want to be there is disruptive to the other students and not fair to the teacher”. Thats a very knowledgeable statement because its true that when teens want to drop out, they want to drop out before they are 18, so they are most likely going to be careless and disrespectful at school. Some teens have personal reasons that are sometimes urgent, and staying in school isn't an option.
Many EMG children also do not have that initial push of how important education is for them. They may have a fatalistic view on where they see themselves fitting into to society which may rub on to their children. Sugarman did a lot of research on this and found it as being one of the top reasons why children can fail in education. Children who believe their future is already predetermined will not put as much focus on education as they think they will only get working-class jobs. Which makes the students fall behind from the education standers required by some of the most complicated colleges threw out the world. Also according from studies done by New York University of Education Department it shows that United States education system fails to stay up to standers compare to what the Easter world makes for their high Schools students.
To get that scholarship, and not be that rich kid that the parents just put down money for them to go to college. The rich kids don't want to actually do well their parents want them to just because they have the money to do it. That poor kid that maybe they didn't grow up right and just need a chance to do well, they might have messed around in school and think they could do better now, wont have money for them to go and change how they were thought of. Everyone just wants you to think you can do or be anything you want. The world is just not like this not everyone has the same chance your family or your ethnic group or your finances have a lot to do with on your limits in life.
A child spends eleven years in education and in that time they are to achieve levels of A* to C grade, then go onto University. What we neglect to remember is twenty six thousand students per year will leave school with no qualification and one in six, seventy five thousand fifteen year olds will have insignificant literacy skills (Education failure 2006). Many will seek employment and find jobs, but will not be able to attain the job because they lack the essential skills they need. They will feel the education system has failed them leaving them defeated and disappointed. These children come from all different background, low income families, single parent families, some ethnic groups, live in disadvantage areas, children who have special educational needs and children who are in care.
People who go to college now pay to go there and if they fail a class they just wasted a lot of money. If the government paid for everyone’s education then no one would think they would have to work hard and they would think they would have to work hard and they would end up failing once they moved in to there career. The only people that deserve to go to college for free are people that earn a scholarship or those who apply for financial aide. These programs are there for the people that have the desire to go to college. Most people that think a higher education should be free are not very wealth but there are programs like financial aide to help them if they have the desire to get a higher education.
They would say that a less strict grading system would let the students have more freedom. Some also protest that it would not help differentiate the outstanding students from the average for colleges and universities. In addtion, some would say it would also take a huge effort and time to change the grading system. You will have to train the teachers all over again. New standards would have to be made.
