Amber Falde Professor Harwood ENC 1102 8 October 2013 Positive influences of Disney Princesses While girls grow up they will look up to someone as a role model, whether it be a parent or a famous celebrity. These role models are only human; they make mistakes because they aren’t perfect. Young girls might see a famous celebrity that they look up to make bad choices and think that it’s ok whether it have to deal with sex, alcohol or drugs. By raising girls on the Disney princess movies, it gives girls a role model that is in a sense “perfect”. The princesses have been the same for 30 years and will stay the same for 30 more years.
This quote that was said by Gloria best explains how she chooses to live her life now that she has faced her obstacles and even if she comes to obstacles again in life. Nothing worth it will come without hard work and dedication, which also means that when issues come about giving up, should not be an option. If pushing forward and going on gets hard just remember Gloria Allred. Throughout her early life experience, educational experience, and professional experience Gloria faced many trials and obstacles that shaped and molded her into the successful lawyer she is today. The curse stated that when the princess is 15 years old, she will prick her finger with a splinter and fall into a sleep that will last for 100 years. After the 100 years pass, the kiss of a young prince releases briar rose from her sleep, and they live happily ever after. In Grimm’s version, there’s little background or explanation on why the spell was casted on little Briar Rose. In Disney’s Maleficent, the story evolves around the ‘wise woman’ who casted the spell, which in this case is portrayed as a fairy. Disney’s version offers an in-depth background on why Maleficent, after being betrayed by King Stephan, takes revenge by casting the spell on the little princess, named Aurora.
Several times in the story our main characters could die; however, the author “saves” them from death in order to show that true love will triumph. Thus, when Buttercup jumps into the sea because she is afraid of being killed the author tells us, “Well, since the book’s called The Princess Bride….obviously, the author’s not about to make shark kibble of his leading lady.” When Wesley was tortured to death we know that he’ll be brought back to life by the magic power, “You just know that the resurrection pill has got to
But in Gnomeo in Juliet, the Nurse takes the form of a frog, while in Baz-Luhrmann’s version it was a wise and elderly grandmother. They both offer advice to Juliet about Romeo, Paris, and her parents, and they protect her when Juliet runs away to visit Romeo in absolute secrecy. Also, both the tales end with the Montagues and Capulets having a truce. However, in Baz-Luhrmann’s version, both Romeo and Juliet die before the truce occurs, while in Gnomeo and Juliet, they seem to die but rise from underneath the rubble of her tower. One of the more obvious differences between the two movies was that one was a comedic cartoon with garden gnomes and other creatures, and the other was played by real actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio.
Helen had superhuman strength such as superhuman strength, longevity, vitality and resistance to harm and eternal life. This was only true just as long as she continuously ate ambrosia and drank nectar from the apples of immortality. Helen was beautiful and many gods wanted her. Before Helen had time to grow older her twin siblings Castor and Pollux rescued her.
Mother in Terms of Endearment and The Blind Side Two Oscar-winning actresses, two mothers in two movies, Shirley MacLaine and Sandra Bullock had different and perfect performance, but expressed something in common. In Terms of Endearment, Aurora who played by Shirley MacLaine was a cool lady. It can be seen from many places: In the beginning of the movie, she interrupted a baby’s sleep rudely; her daughter Emma’s wedding was coming, she still insisted that Emma should not marry Flap, because she could” not afford to overcome terrible marriage” . When Emma grew up, she still had many wooers. When she knew that Emma had the third pregnancy, she strongly recommended Emma to abort the child.
But I cannot get married again..”. That is one of the reasons she is my favorite character she is not afraid to say no, not even to one of her very good friends. But I also like Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni because he is also very persistent and won’t give up until he gets what he wants. In the very last chapter of the book after asking Mma Ramotswe many times to marry her, she finally says yes after Mr J.L.B Matekoni helps her with the Witch Doctor and missing boy case.
