Reflection Paper 2: Gun Control As a country we have witnessed a great amount of tragedy. Sandy Hook, Columbine, and Virginia Tech all have one thing in common: young, innocent students killed by gunshot wounds. Some would say “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” while others disagree. There are two large interest groups that have drastically different views on the growing issue of control. Those two groups are the Brady Campaign and the NRA.

Cloud expresses that the United States is falling prey to a new form of bulling and because there is no set guidelines for this new form of bulling many of young Americans are dyeing and he states that something needs to be done to stop it. John Cloud expresses cyber bulling is on the rise, and not getting any better therefore something needs to be done to stop these deaths. Clouds explaines different examples of how cyber bulling has affected the United States. Such as on October first a mother and father were forced to burry their thirteen-year-old child due to cyber bulling. It was said that a friend had filmed this thirteen-year-old boy kissing another male teen.

Capital punishment saves money and overcrowding in the prisons. The death penalty is the only punishment that would directly compensate for the tragic loss of a loved one. Cons---There are some people against the death penalty because they believe it is not fair to the poor, who cannot afford to hire an attorney to defend them. The poor usually get the death penalty because they are appointed an incompetent court appointed attorney with little or no experience in trying capital cases. There have been a lot of innocent people put to death.

Serial killers are the group of people who kill, kill, and kill over a long period of time without ever being caught or stopped. Serial killers are generally cunning, manipulative and know the difference between right and wrong but dismiss it as applying to them.
