Final Essay There were two novels that truly stuck out to me the most. These two novels contained characters and texts that would help in my future career in business. I hopefully will graduate with a business major and eventually start and run my own company. To do this I must acquire a personality and character to communicate with customers, run a business, be strong willed, and have strong emotional stability. The three characters come from the novels The Maltese Falcon and No Country For Old Men they are, Sam Spade, Sheriff Bell, and Llewelyn Moss. These three characters have different personalities and characteristics. However using all three of them together I feel would have an outstanding effect on my future career. Sam Spade works as a detective in a partnership detective agency. However, he has the character to run the agency completely by himself. Sam Spade carries his shoulders high, he is very confident. When running your own business being confident in what you do is something you have to have. Without this your business will have no room to expand. Sam Spade cares about himself and only himself, if something happens in his line of work he shows no emotion or even shows he cares. When you’re the owner of something, much like a company, emotions cannot be apart of your everyday work. If you show emotions with what you’re running how will anyone else respect you and trust that this company is in good hands. He is a very hard worker and takes his job very seriously with complete awareness of everything he needs to complete. Spade does not trust many people and with this gets all of his business taken care of. Sam spade is a man to him self, is very confident, shows no emotion and is strong willed.
