Sammy quickly realizes that prioritizing females over a job was probably the wrong decision when he is outside of his former place of work “[feeling] how hard the world would be to [him] hereafter.” Once he has stepped out of A & P, he has not just stepped outside, but into another part of his life: adult hood. This transition for the painfully obviously unprepared Sammy is uncomfortable to watch unfold because the reader knows that he is doomed based off of his mindset and

Paul thought of it as an insult and a waste of his time, as reflected by his strong opinion expressed with frustration to his father after the first lesson that, “He practically broke my arm… He’s a sadist,” when he complained to his parents. Knowing that Paul was an arrogant teenager who had been praised too much, Keller tried to teach him more than just the mastery of the piano, but how his attitude should be. Although Paul did not receive Keller’s message, later on he realized how much Keller had taught

When the author’s sister found out that her son was a clan leader and had been excluding other kids at school, she was shocked. I entirely feel as if this situation relates to a few of the economic guideposts we have learned about. First off, incentives matter, in which whatever motivated her son to exclude this other boy, will cause a change in the behavior they have towards each other, causing this game to become more of a real life issue. Therefore, the boys may become enemies at school and this could lead to bigger problems down the road. Secondly,

With his teacher successfully putting an end to his dreams of a rightful career, Malcolm decided to forgo the continuance of education and began his criminal ways that ultimately resulted in his incarceration. If Malcolm X was alive today it would have been easier for him to teach himself to read and write with all the advancements in technology. TV and images from magazines and newspapers may be more inspiration to learn than just Bimbi’s ability to converse with a high level of intellect.
