Not only are they scorned and hated by society, but also most scorn and hate themselves even if they do not show it every day. Similarly to Dante’s time, even in today’s society gluttony is considered to be a wrongdoing by others. In our day, lust is not seen as corrupt as it was in Dante’s time. A large part of the community does not consider it immoral to have sexual relationships with one or more partner and yet many people are not finding happiness, they are satisfying lust and perhaps finding that that is not enough. They drift from one relationship to another constantly searching for who knows what.
Lit across Cultures II: Theory 12/2/13 Geek Love Analytical Paper We as people are conditioned to think that disability is something horrible and to be feared. Naturally it makes us uncomfortable because we know it can and probably will happen to us at any time and place. When we see someone who is disabled, most cannot help but to feel pity for the person and assume that due to their disability, they are miserable and unhappy. We tend to think because they do not look “normal” to us; life must be horrible for them. In Geek Love, by Katherine Dunn, we see through the Bineski family how disability is actually perceived as something positive and extraordinary rather than negative.
He started taking shots at my self-esteem by saying that no one else would want to be with me because of x,y,z. C.) I would be lying to you if I said that during this time of my life I didn't fight back. The One Who Suffered the Worst In Nathaniel Hawthorne’s book The Scarlet Letter, Hester’s character suffers far worst than the other two major characters because her sin became part of who she was and how everyone saw her as. Though I believe that Hester suffered the most, other people believe that Hester didn’t suffer as much because of the way she handles her problems; such as, keeping both Dimmesdale and Chillingworth’s secrets , refusing to let them take Pearl from her, and not hiding from the public after her sin is revealed and she is punished. Nonetheless, while Hester does tolerance her suffering better than the other characters, this also shows that she suffered the worst too. In fact, Hawthorne gives frequently evidence of this throughout The Scarlet Letter. Some of the evidence he gives is the constant reminders that she will live with her sin the rest of her life, her relationships with Chillingworth and Dimmesdale, and how she deals with her sin and the result of it.

His constant ambition made him become involved with only himself and he didn’t take other people into consideration so he eventually lost everyone close to him and his friends.
We all have enemies. However, it is the enemy that thrives within us that is the most powerful. Self-defeat and self-denial. Many people tend to give up before they even try, that or they assume they will fail. While others tend to hate themselves and inflict pain on their own bodies, until they feel as though they punished themselves enough.
Depression is when you are experiencing one of those feelings that won’t go away. Having this feeling will affect your day to day life, school, work, sleep, social life etc. Most commonly people can’t control their negative thoughts, which makes there depression get even worse as they get even more negative thoughts. Loss of interest is another symptom to depression, in most situations the person with depression won’t notice this but their friends/family will. There is also a large amount of self-loathing this is when you’re feeling worthless or guilty and are also harshly criticizing your mistake, choices or fault.
These loses know how to bring great regret and guilt to Creon. Creon suddenly experiences his horrible anagorisis. I was angry because of Creon’s ignorance. I felt pity because his punishment was too severe. I didn’t feel fear, but most people would. This tragedy could have been prevented if Creon became aware of his actions quicker. He was ignoring his problem with the burial of Polyneices.
