The curious incident of the dog in the night-time. The book “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time” was written by Mark Haddon and published by Vintage Books in 2004. The book has 268 pages. It is a mystery novel. Christopher is fifteen years and has Asperger´s Syndrome. He finds a murdered dog and wants to find out, who has killed the dog. The main themes are Asperger´s Syndrome, lying and white lies. Christopher Boone is impaired by Asperger´s Syndrome. He doesn´t really feel the feelings normal people feel, because of his illness. Other problems are, that he doesn´t talk to people for a long time. He hates when someone touches him and he screams when he is angry or confused. Moreover he doesn´t like yellow or brown things and he refuses to touch yellow or brown things. Furthermore he doesn´t eat food if different sorts of food are touching each other. These things make life hard and it’s one of the main themes. The other important theme is lying and white lies. Christopher says that everyone lies, but he hates lying. Sometimes he tells white lies. He says white lies aren’t lies at all. It’s where you tell the truth but you do not tell all of the truth. For example Christopher’s father asked Christopher, where he has been and Christopher told him he has been out, but he didn’t told him where he has been exactly. The main character is Christopher John Francis Boone. He lives in Swindon, Wiltshire. He has Asperger´s Syndrome. He is fifteen years, three months and two days old. He loves maths and physics. For instance he knows all prime numbers until 7507. He doesn´t like disorganisation, surprises and different people. He hates the colours yellow and brown, Christopher doesn´t eat brown or yellow food.
