The second important trait a good employee has is, being proactive. These employees are the ones that do things before they are told to. A boss does not want to have to keep reminding an employee to do their job. If they see that something needs to be done, they will do it. In addition, when work is slow they will find something to do.
Under- indulging Has Its Benefits Under- indulging, the word doesn’t exist has its own importance in people’s life. Under- indulging means under satisfactory of something. Under- indulging has its own benefits like understanding the value of our own needs, importance of hard work to satisfy our needs, and happiness after satisfying our needs. When we don’t have something special, which we want so preciously in our life, we can understand value of that special thing. As an example, if one person has everything he wants, he couldn’t understand the value of precious things because he has it already and he hasn’t faced lack of satisfaction.
DuWayne Grinnell ENG 263 5/2/13 My Analysis on Bartleby the Scrivener The story is very interesting as the self-characterization of the narrator was significant to the plot. The narrator is a safe man who takes slight risks and attempts to adjust to his surroundings. I had observed that the narrator was deeply concerned about the financial security and comfort of life which were his core priorities. Bartleby was a confused loner who was hired by an old lawyer (the narrator) to work at his business which entailed titles, mortgages and bonds. Bartleby was basically hired for copying the text but eventually he started refusing the work requested by the lawyer.
The ability to persuade and convince others to accept one's argument or reasoning is such a skill, even though that some people are more gifted at it than others. Good leaders should also have integrity of character and lead by example. These qualities, which go to make up character, can be instilled as well. Leadership learning is a life activity. It can never be done because there is always more to learn.
Analysis of Sandra Ascher’s The Box Man The writer of The Box Man, Barbara Lazear Ascher, created it in order to contrast the lives of those who chose loneliness against those who did not do so. While some may say that “The Box Man” did not chose to live his life in loneliness but instead is alone because of a mental defect which the author implies that he has, one can infer from the essay that it is not so. The author makes it clear that the man is actually content with the life he lives and “prefers it that way”, referring to the manner in which he passes through the night in darkness. (Paragraph 18) She also uses repetition later in the paragraph to emphasize that he does not have to wait for anybody else’s company or acceptance, through the phrase “people have tried and he shuffled away.”(Paragraph 18) Another character in the essay is an elderly woman whom the narrator sees at a local coffee shop every evening. When the narrator views the woman, she speculates on the type of life that she has lived.
Above all else, I believe being a leader one has to make being at work fun. I think if you enjoy what you are doing and do not get up every morning hating to have to go work the employee becomes a more productive worker. I am a firm believer that if an organization treats their employee’s well they will be happier, loyal and more productive to the organization. I believe my leadership philosophies now and as a future leader will be a blend of autocratic leader, innovative leader, constant improvement leader, and a transformational leader. I know this is a lot of different philosophies of leadership, but I do not think there is just one type of leader and to be a good leader one needs to be open to learning new things.
Having a good work ethic basically means having the initiative to do things on your own without having someone telling you what to do and doing it right and efficiently. When given a task or assignment, it is always important to do your best and do it right. In the work place, doing your job well and doing it the way it is supposed to be done shows that you actually care about your work and don’t just slack off on it when you feel the need. Another crucial skill or habit that will be wise for anyone to practice of master is time management. Time management is a habit that can be used in the class room, work place, or in everyday life.
Crooks, a black stable-hand, is segregated because of the pigment of his skin. Steinbeck depicts discrimination through Crooks’ isolation from other men, his desire for friendship, and his way of turning his vulnerability into a weapon. First, Steinbeck demonstrates Crooks’ loneliness through his separation from the other men on the ranch. Initially, the other ranch hands discriminate Crooks because of his disability that sets him apart from them. Steinbeck describes Crooks’ living condition to be, “For being alone…Crooks could leave his things about, and being a stable buck and a cripple, he was more permanent than the other men” (67).
The characteristics of a person depend on his upbringing, is shaped by his surroundings, and moulded by his education. Developing into a strong individual requires more of a moral and inner platform of an individual to invest on, and less on luxuries and other amenities of modern life. Although a luxurious life makes our day-to-day living more comfortable, it does not mould a person's characteristics. To be a strong and independent individual calls for greater self-motivation. It is how we perceive life and its atrocities, overcome each and every hurdle and accept challenges reflect how strong an individual we are.
These people like to be in charge of other people and love to be in control. They feel uncomfortable with surprises or being out of familiar surroundings. Their ability to focus on a goal and their propensity to organize others means they can achieve whatever they put their minds to. They are also perfectionist. Approval of authority is important for this group.
