Problem Prevention Plan: Six Grade Classroom Yvonne McCullum Liberty University My main goals for my six graders the first weeks of class will be to organize my classroom in a group/team setting environment. I will introduce myself and other students, review the class expectations for behavior, class procedures, syllabus, and a "get acquainted" game. Once this is done I will get to academics. I want my students to feel comfortable and love their new environment, a classroom that is fun and safe where learning can take place. My students will develop a community that respects each other in the classroom as well as out of the classroom.
I am attracted to the opportunity of maintaining my ability to work professionally as a Secondary Science Teacher in the local community and to continue my own knowledge in the field of Master of Arts in Education with a Principal certification. I believe that my continued educational and professional background in science and secondary education will be highly appropriate for the long term goal of becoming a grade school principal. It will also help in the grooming of our youth into highly productive members of their societies who are able to utilize their own skills in today’s fast paced living. I seek to become an accomplished and supportive leader by playing a significant community role by positively
I will create this environment through an engaging curriculum, personable interaction, topic orientated discussions, and group work. Since my license will include an endorsement in Special Education my classroom management will include a focus on flexibility defined as the ability to respond to the moods, emotions and the capabilities of my students on any given day. Meeting the needs of my students, based on their individual need, will be a crucial part of my classroom management structure. I will accomplishment this by promoting self-management and self-efficacy in my students to the best of their abilities. Creating a predictable, consistent, and success-oriented environment will promote self-management in my students by creating, basic, daily routines with limited changes (Savage & Savage, 2010).
Learning Theories and Effective Curriculum Design Arlinda Hairston Walden University Pam Fitzgerald Designing Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment EDUC -6640 March 3, 2012 paper ID: 233289042 author: Hairston, Arlinda 40% Similarity score Learning Theories and Effective Curriculum Design Teaching 21st century learners requires the use of multiple methods to meet learning goals and differentiation of instruction for varied learning styles. According to (Marzano, 2010) teachers are responsible for utilizing several learning theories to keep students engaged and motivated (Marazona, 2010). Teachers integrate their knowledge of how students develop and learn and recognize that learning is not” one dimensional” (NBPTS, Para 4, p.2). Formulating a and implementing a theory of learning will help teachers capitalize on student’s strengths and experiences as well as using their own experience in the classroom to focus on ways to build on student’s academic abilities. Teachers need direction in order to meet academic proficiencies and to keep student’s interest (Laureate Education, Inc., 2010).
INTRODUCTION Operating a home daycare where I only enroll preschool age children, I have incorporated technology into my classroom as a way to communicate and collaborate with students, parents, the local community and the global community. Because the use of technology has proven to be beneficial in my home business, it is my plan to continue this practice when I complete my degree program and open up my first preschool center. As an educator I understand that it is important to reach and have a positive impact on as many children as possible. Therefore, I will use technology to not only help my students but children around the world. MISSION STATEMENT My mission is to provide every child with a quality education in a developmentally

Wayson also spoke about teacher student relations and how to open your classroom for more effective learning. He talked about not embarrassing a student, but in turn seeking alternate ways of getting your message across. This is something that we have touched on throughout the course, but something I feel to be very important. I think its imperative that as teachers we think about what our actions have the power to do. At the elementary level, we are shaping how students feel about themselves which can affect them the rest of their lives.
Allowing teachers to teach beyond the test is what will allow students a much more vivid mind and give them a wide range of knowledge. Education leading to careers is America’s forte and can only get better by allowing students the ability to overcome that pre-determined goal of knowledge this act has placed on our students and teachers. Effective Assessment Practices Trisha Robinson HSN/552 Assessment and Evaluation of Learning June 2, 2014 Susan Dolinar An important part of teaching and learning is the assessment process. To help students and educators understand where they are headed, where they have been and where they are right now is having a good assessment practice. There is no one assessment practice that can give sufficient information to learning and teaching that help plan. The use of different assessment types as part of the instruction will result in helpful information about a learners understanding and progress. Teachers can use the data to help guide in their practice and partner with the learner to reflect on their learning and set goals for the future.
